My laptop has been 2 years. I thought the warranty is just 1 year where it was registered for 3 yrs warranty. I opened my laptop to clean the fan and heatsinks, but it doesn't change the overheat and noise of fan. Hence, the seal of warranty sticker isbroken.

Can I still claim the warranty?

you mean the warranty sticker covering the screw holes right?

no problem.

still can claim for warranty.

acer warranty allows you to upgrade ram by yourself as well, without voiding warranty.

Yes, the sticker covering the screw holes. What should I answer
if the technician asks me about the sticker? Should I honestly tell the guy that I open the laptop to clean the fan? Thanks bro for your answer.

Rather than upgrade I prefer buy new laptop because last time very bad experience when upgraded my fujitsu laptop. Only 1 month upgraded RAM then laptop cannot be used due to faulty HDD and keyboard. sold cheap cheap

how is that possible?
did they ask u if u dismantle the notebook?

or they see the receipt then straight change the parts for u even the sticker koyak?
*
I gave them the receipt then they scanned the barcode of my HDD, RAM, and Serial number. Then put note that I had the broken seal. They did not ask me about I dismantled the laptop or not. As long as I have the serial number on the laptop case then it's should be ok eventhough you lost the receipt too then they would count your started date of warranty based on the date of manufacturing of the laptop

how come your 3.75 yrs laptop still have the warranty? mine only has 3 yrs warranty period.
Yes, very gooding la go service center no need to queue, so it means nobody has problem with acer laptop nia thumbup.gif
However, acer laptop tends to be overheat. So how long have you generally change the thermal paste of your laptop? mine already 2 yrs also no change

Overheating issues are normally caused by your heat sink vent being blocked by dusts. That's about it. It's rarely on the thermal paste unless it got that long that it dried up completely.
We normally only reapply if we took out the heat sink for cleaning.
*
but why the acer guy said they did not reapply the thermal paste on my laptop heatsink after my laptop fan was cleaned? My laptop still at 70 degrees, this is better than last time 80 degrees celcius and the laptop fan now not bising.they gave the oil to my laptop fan.

unsure about y.
most problem i saw overheat..
1. put in da bed..
2. without proper ventilation..
3. nvdia and ati chipset.............. Lol where the air go.. compress and burn out motherboard.
4.. never ever defrag disk.
*
1. I always put in flat desk
2. the laptop itself designed by acer without proper ventilation so overheat problem
3.yes amd cpu must come with ati gpu, the pros are better graphic than intel gpu
4. I always defrag but the hdd useful life I heard only 4-5 yrs?

Depend on what they do to it.

If they just remove the fan without the heatsink, it's doable. Normally I do both. No point opening the entire case just to clean the damn fan only. Waste of effort.
*
can I ask Acer to re apply the thermal paste for free under warranty? Because the guy said if wanna reapply thermal paste I need to bring my own thermal paste then they will help it for free. hmm.gif
