Hey guys, can you all suggest any custom ROM + kernel that can give good battery life? I am on data connection most of the time and main battery drain comes from Clash of Clan and Waze/Google Map. Will not mind for underclock.

i believe my phone battery drain and heat up all the time was due to google now "ok google " detection... i hv jsut disable it to rom from any screen and from lock screen, back to original setting. first time talk to the phone not the people... if not because of this function i think i don even use the ok google also. all the while want to search something just type on the search bar.

google search still had the highest wakelock even tho on 4.4.4 now

Just a quick update, that pages ago I mentioned my N5 ear piece broken, suspected due to sweat goes inside. Yesterday miracle happen and ear piece works again      Lucky havent order the spare part.

Well, depends on what kind of games you play as well. Those high graphics/cpu surely will consume more.
Even I on data (mix H+ and 2G), can roughly get 2 hours SOT (from work 9am-5/6pm), that is if with normal usage without gaming, by that time battery will be around 20% (go home charge).

LOL! It's true though. Their battery also can last whole day. Normal usage la.
Yeap, games depends. Played before games stress cpu & gpu kaw kaw until my phone auto shutdown

1+1 is a great phone. I would say specs-wise better than Nexus 5.
Battery wise, 1+1 is better (3100 vs 2300 mAh) and built on CM kernel.

I'm sure you can google reviews and comparison of 1+1 with N5 so I'll give my 2 cents in development:
Development POV:
1+1 OS is android source built from Cyanogenmod, so this tells me it's CAF.
Nexus 5 is purely AOSP from Google. So it can either flash AOSP rom/kernels or CAF rom/kernels.

Updates from Google, Nexus 5 will always receive it first. Then the CM team will start to rollout to 1+1 when they merge new sources to their build.

i'm losing patience on my nexus 5's batt life. i feel that i'm turning off every feature on the phone just to save batt life, turning a smartphone into a normal phone.

anyone got any special tricks that can improve batt life so that i can give it a last try before i revert back to my note 2 with custom rom.

What are the features you turn off?
There are no special tricks, we flash different custom kernels and test them out, find out which more suitable for our usage. We also monitor wakelocks and fix them, etcetc.

You still didnt share your battery life and Screen On Time.
FYI, you cant expect N5 to have Note2 battey life, 3100-2300=800mAh is HUGE difference.
