living in jb working in sg... can can ... only if the RTS ie MRT is materialised. Travelling via causeway everyday can shorten your life by years ..... hsr fare will cost too much for a daily user. RTS is the best transport to cross from Malaysia to Singapore on regular basis... fast and economically viable.
Don't think it will be a smooth sailing for HSR negotiation esp one is known to be a kiasu state and one is overly protecting its rights. more than 90% of the HSR located on MY soil however the last mile in which is very crucial to the entire idea of cross border hsr is beyond MY control. Nevertheless HSR is a very viable project with strong demand between the 2 cities...
At the same time, RTS is more important to move ppl from iskandar or JB to sg is being neglected due to lower traffic volume and lack of economic impact. However I belip sg is keen to do this in order to chase the railway station out of their soil. The extension from woodland north to jb is very much shorter than HSR itself.
a combo solution....Build HRS from KL to JB so MY has the full ownership on it and eliminate the lengthy nego with SG. The HRS station in JB should be connected and next to the RTS station. Those passengers wish to continue their journey to sg should use the RTS/MRT. This proposal could solve the critical issues that both countries are facing right now.

wah sibeh good idea.. but boss can u share how long it takes to cross the causeway.. let's say i stay in wadihana area, what time should i leave to work there at 830?
