only 1 certified ma.. brows.gif

culdnt really compare to stock rim coz my stock was steel rims (b-line  yawn.gif ).
by the time i changed it in 2011, the cost:
-grade A taiwan rims = RM1100
-metal valve = RM8 X 4
-tyre, initially was Federal 595 SS (RM250X4)
so all burnt = RM2150 including alignment

agreed. specially this year. thts y erly last yer i changed to achilles only (RM215)  yawn.gif

205/50. wat is r3 spec tyre size?
if u want wide looking tyre, look for the one tht has side rim protector.
due to its extra rubber for rim protection, it makes ur wheel looks ngam with persona's wide.

but to reduce wheel arch gap.. hmm.gif  change abs or spring? unsure.gif
*
R3 got 2 sizes.. Old Neo R3 205/45..

QUOTE(TDUEnthusiast @ Jun 12 2014, 02:59 PM)
doh.gif Got myself into deep shit. I kinda ripped the middle air-cond vent assembly off the dashboard cause I thought it's just sitting on plastic legs. Turns out there's actually four screws securing the middle air vent assembly to the dashboard from the inside doh.gif. Now my only solution is to either remove the entire dash to attempt to remove and fix it, or attempt to loosen the screws by trying to squeeze my hands and a small screwdriver into the small space doh.gif.

I tried removing the air-cond duct in the middle, but looks like it's not removable through the front because it seems to have two legs at the side.

xandras Help please icon_question.gif. How to remove the dash of the Persona?
*
Lol. You wanna remove the whole dashboard? Your car ada airbag mou? A lot of work leh.

QUOTE(akh2920 @ Jun 12 2014, 03:15 PM)
Did anyone here had ever tried before to fix the noise from dashboard?? Annoying la weiiii  mad.gif

And by using ceramic brake pad, can it reduce the brake noise? (the "rubber" sound when car is near to stop)

Ahhhh noisesssss
*
What dashboard sound? Go over uneven road Krek Krek sound?

Brake? If u M or B line, nope.

QUOTE(akh2920 @ Jun 12 2014, 03:23 PM)

Dashboard got a constant "bzzzzzzz" sound, but not happens everytime. Tend to happen more during cornering from my observation, still it will randomly occur in other situation too. Ahhhh damn annoying

Btw I am SV, brake sound still can save? haha
*
Electronic buzzing sound? Lol. I thought this noise has already been rectified 2-3 years ago after I complained to Proton and shared it here. If it is buzzing sound, you need to get your ECU reflashed. Try to listen closely near the ECU to the right of the steering rack. If it is coming from there, it should be the ECU..

SV? hmm.gif Your car manual?

Doesnt sound like electronic noise, more like vibrational noise to me  sweat.gif But yeah I ll still check the ECU for any possibilities...

No, its auto  biggrin.gif
*
For brake sound, try shifting to N while coming to a stop.. That's the cheapest solution without changing brakes. Lol.

For the Dash noise, nope. Probably some screw longgar somewhere/loose panels..

*
Huh? As if in D your car won't glide forward? rclxub.gif

Hmm.. Your handbrake might need to be re tightened sooner lo.. And your rear brake pads wear out sooner.

btw, vios brake system very good eh?
my dad said my sv brake a got bit late response compare to his vios. loll  cry.gif
*
Lol. Is that how you judge a brake system ah?

Persona progressive braking lah.. Japanese cars all sekali tekan ur jantung also fall out wan. Proton's failed attempt at continentalizing the car = progressive braking.

so those progressive braking is actually good for car system?  hmm.gif
how about on emergency brake situation?
*
Emergency brake your tyres will still lock.

Progressive braking = the amount of pressure you put on the pedal. The more you press, the harder you brake.
Japanese style braking = No matter how much you press, max braking. (just an exaggeration)

When you emergeny brake no matter which style also you'll step on the pedal habis habisan, rite?

so ok laa nothing wrong with persona braking system laa
just curious kot kot ada tersilap maa..  sweat.gif

See la.. different ppl different preference when it comes to braking. I'd prefer progressive as it's easier to bring the car to a halt smoothly and steadily.

I don't like the brakes that come on pretty strongly even with a light press, like my dad's car doh.gif. Langsung cannot do a jerk free stop. Persona on the other hand has a perfect brake response for me.

On a side note, I went to a regular air-cond shop to get a quotation. If everything goes well, I'll be having a full air-cond service which includes removing the dashboard that'll be over RM300 cry.gif. On the bright side I can now add some Insulflex into the dash and do some improvements to the inner workings of the dashboard to prevent any unwanted dashboard noise. So far I don't have any dashboard noise, but I have air-cond vents noise. The middle air-cond vent assembly will be replaced tomorrow, and if the side vents are cheap, I'll probably get them replaced as well.

Uh huh. Air-cond servicing for a Persona, if inclusive of cleaning the cooling coil apparently requires the removal of the dashboard. doh.gif So since I'll have to remove the dash to get to the screws on the other side for the middle outlet assembly, I may as well have it done at the same time. Otherwise I'll be paying over RM200 for dashboard removal alone doh.gif.
