Hi Guys,

Being noticing such pattern since last week, to further confirm, please kindly run a Speedtest & then TraceRoute, paste me the results to analyze further.

Please refer to your pm for more details.

Thanks.

Me three, I live and work in KL Sentral and I have Time fibre at home and at the work place. The connectivity to Europe has been terrible the last few weeks.

Did someone cut a cable, or did Time Dot Com not pay their backbone fees?

I would provide a trace route, but it seems to be blocked from the office firewall. I have tried both UDP and TCP.

I will try to post my trace route from home later.

Yeah Time's bandwidth outside of Malaysia disappears just as quickly as 1MDB funds smile.gif

Still nothing compared to TM, look what i get with my 20mbs line over wifi (long distance) at my office:

But it is at least better than the 10kbps that i got yesterday night with Time.

Indeed, at home I'm still getting 0.1 when connecting to Amsterdam. If they do no fix this, there is no chance in hell I will get Time for our new office.

The fact that the Time bandwidth is different to my Time connection at home can imply they are traffic shaping. Seems like Time is going cheap on it's international bandwidth, while having customers pay premium prices!

Time is really a terrible cheating company, they told me they solved the problem. But I found out that they only increased the speed to the speedtest.net servers. Look what kind of results i get to the speedtest.net server and some other servers:

Agreed, and the customer service is shit and dishonest. They contacted me to tell me my bandwidth to Europe should have improved, and yet when I tested again I saw no improvement and sent the results back to customer service. More than a week later and nothing heard back. Surprise surprise, Malaysian customer service at it's best smile.gif

I am convinced that Time has cut costs on their backbone connections and are doing their best to fool everyone to thinking it is business as usual. Why else is it that when you call customer service they say there is no problem where as here we have agents(paid reps of Time) telling us there are ongoing "issues", with the standard response of send me your trace and ping. Surely they would have had collected enough data by now to fix the issue, if there really is an issue.

When I speak to my MDeC account manager next, I will ask him why ISP's in Malaysia can not provide reliable internet bandwidth to Europe.

Hi "Bro",

How about you give us an update on what Time network engineers are actually working on at the movement and a detailed explanation of their current "problem".

Thanks.

We will be having a meeting this week, and hence from very much earlier I requested for the Case ID/Report ID that you all have made.

See my post :
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...&#entry76640041

You know corporate style la...without solid case IDs, it's harder to push for an answer...

For other who is affected, please do also submit the Case ID, so that we can assist in following up.

Thanks.

So how can I provide the CASE ID when they do not provide it. TIME DOT COM help desk is more slippery and dishonest than Najib!!! mad.gif

Something is fishy with the result as sub 200ms latency between KL and Amsterdam is no possible unless you have MPLS or similar in place. I reroute RDP traffic via proxies in AWS SG and Frankfurt and best I get is around 250ms.

this should solve most issues here.

take speedtest servers with a grain of salt, not all servers are qualified, some servers suck like shit, giving shitty speed with their limited speed.

some servers perform well, like Amsterdam Softlayer techonologies [45mbps average on DL and UL]

Again I don't believe the latency posted above is legit.

Results vary depending on which server yes, but the only known ISP in the list is KPN, the largest telecommunications company in the Netherlands.

I would avoid time until they fix these issues with their vendors. I would wait at least 6 weeks to see if Time fixes the issue, otherwise look at the other options...TM or Maxis?

Connection to Europe still sucks from the office and home. Skype video call quality is still bad, meaning the connection can not sustain bandwidth >= 1Mbps between here and Europe.

Thank you mr double post, yes cat 5 connected connected to the router. It seems it's router related:
