How does installation work in condo complex?

Does the technician drill the wall and install the cable, or only run the cable along the floor from outside?

I emailed TIME, but they sent me a generic jpg that didn't explain it very well. I would like to know hard facts and detail about the installation process so I can prepare my condo for it.

Hi,

I have recently renovated my unit as well, and have engaged jjj2's service to conceal the conduits so that there will be no visible fibre optic cable.

Conceal in plaster ceiling?

Btw is concealing a good idea? I get feedback that fibre optic cable can spoil easily..so in the case need to replace the cable..need to tear down the plaster ceiling?

Coz I just recently renovated too..
*
Mine is concealed directly in the wall, but no difference if conceal in plaster ceiling as well..

The way jjj2 does it, it can be replaced easily.. Will let him explain to you how it's done..

My concealing was done even before TIME is available at my condo.. biggrin.gif Just hope that TIME doesn't FFK me..

Will Time be reducing their broadband prices too?

Reduction of broadband prices my foot.. Streamyx just offering a new 1Mbps package with a 1GB quota at RM 38.. I don't consider that a reduction of prices..

Hi Bro,

Very frequently asked questions indeed smile.gif

TIME Fibre Home Broadband that bundles together with Astro channels in Astro IPTV packages, max Boost is 40Mbps.

Yes it's separated in different Vlan.
Based on our years of field testing, under normal conditions, most of the time you will be getting almost 90% of the speed you subscribed.

Thanks.
*
Then is it possible to subscribe for Time broadband first, hen later add-on astro IPTV? Instead of applying as a bundle?

Dear bro

I believe there is no further changes in Time fibre hOme broadband for the year 2015.

Anyhow i believe Time fibre will be back for more wonder next year .

Most of what you anticipated will be materilised

Trust TIME dot com , you will be getting more than what you asked for.

Thanks
*
Sure ka? I'm anticipating RM 69 for 100Mbps broadband to potentially be on par with this. tongue.gif

That's the price for new customers. We get to keep the same price we had befoee at the new package speed.

Until our contracts end, after which we'll need to pay the new price d.

Nope wrong info. I checked with TIME call center. As long as you maintain your old subscription e.g. 10Mbps @ RM129, you will enjoy the same price for 100Mbps @ RM129. Forever ever until you terminate or change package.

New customers will pay the new market price -> 100Mbps @ RM149

Hrm.. Seems like bro yeapch01 has already edited his earlier post where he mentioned the update and pricing policies..

But this is good news!a

Expand to landed areas pls, then tm have no choice but to increase the speed for us too
*
If your reason for TIME expansion is for TM to increase speed, then TIME will be wasting money? tongue.gif

Instead, your reasoning should change to:
"Expand to landed areas pls, then we can jump ship to TIME"..

Thanks your answer.
The speed is OK?
Can reach 100mbps?
I plan buy one.
*
I'm using the MiWifi Mini (be careful not to get the Nano / Youth Edition).

Phone with wireless AC & on 5GHz can reach 90+.. laptop only has wireless-N on 2.4GHz can reach about 40 - 50Mbps..

Streaming 4k video from youtube smooth like butter..

And as raylon pointed out, the LAN/WAN only 100Mbps, which is just enough for the 100Mbps package.. But can get for less than RM 100 on 11 street, no complains d la..

Original Xiaomi Wireless Dual-band Mi WiFi Mini Router 2.4GHz/5GHz 1167Mbps

is a 4 storeys condo consider high rise? jump down from 4th floor still can die leh.

btw, if i check Time coverage dont have my condo mean i no hope?am using maxis 5mb at the moment.
*
Depends on the number of units for the project I guess..

TIME was available at the previous place I was staying, which was also a low-rise condo.. Got multiple blocks of 5 storeys (including ground floor).. Each block can have 20 - 40 units.. Total units about 400..
