Hi, I'm using TIME Fibre Home Broadband 10 mbps was fast and stable from streamyx that always slow and service was down sometimes. I tried 50 mbps boost was fast. It can reach about 40 - 50 mbps.

QUOTE(jjj2 @ Oct 31 2015, 05:52 PM) Ya Boost Speed sometimes fluctuates a bit....always test using direct cable connection to ONU. 1. You mean direct cable connection to ONU is connect cable to PC via Wi-Fi router or ONU?Thanks. 2. The 50mbps boost for 30 hours per month is renew every month? 3. After next month 30 hours boost will renew back to 30 hours? (Now I had activated boost for 8 hours and left 22 hours. Will that renew to 30 hours next month?) |

QUOTE(darksider @ Nov 1 2015, 09:43 AM) i just had this problem few days earlier. Thank you very much. So you know which router is recommended?i took jjj2 recommendation on one of the asus router rt n14u, it has 300mbps around rm3xx but i dont recommend it because immediately regretted when i bought it and brought it home. the wan port and lan port are only 10/100 mbps capable. and its only shown in the box and u search elsewhere most retailers dont mention it. so i returned it to gadget zone and upgrade to n18u which is around rm120 more expensive and come with 1000mbps wan and lan port. wifi wise all is good, from default router from time (around 1x - 30mbps) to now consistent 50-70mbps on wifi, even ipad 2 gets 48mbps. You are using 100 mbps line? What you had problems with recommendation from jjj2? Speed not fast? Is TP-Link Wi-Fi router recommended? This post has been edited by TXSim: Nov 1 2015, 10:40 AM |

QUOTE(darksider @ Nov 1 2015, 10:38 AM) one of his recommendation is n14u which i dont recommend, and also one of his recommendation is n18u, which i recommend u get if u hv 50mbps / 100mbps. Thank you very much. if u are on 50mbps and above, using lan port will give u surge of speed in first few second that reach 300mbps. I'm using 10 mbps line. Sometimes I wanted to activate the boost. Is TP-Link Archer C7 OK? Is D-link Wi-Fi router also recommended? This post has been edited by TXSim: Nov 1 2015, 11:17 AM |

QUOTE(darksider @ Nov 1 2015, 12:11 PM) for 10mbps, even the default router would deliver fine. Thank you. it should be good, as recommended by yeap. but c2 is good enough already. since your line is only 10mbps, you tplink lower end should be good. but anyway, u can take other's professional advice. i only use n18u for now (rm449). I often activate the boost to 50 mbps. So is TP-Link C2 is recommended? This post has been edited by TXSim: Nov 1 2015, 12:20 PM |

QUOTE(jjj2 @ Nov 1 2015, 04:36 PM) Hi Bro, Thank you JJ Choo. You must understand the Boost Technology, today you got 50Mbps constantly with Wifi connections, does not mean tomorrow when you test again will be the same, fluctuations do occur, though not much...10-15% is common...afterall FTTx is best effort basis. Fluctuations not only coz by Routers...Fibre readings do not stay constant...equipment terminations do play vital role..As you go higher speed, you will notice the effect is much more significant... So before we put the blame on the Router, test it directly with your ONU, if it doesn't give you 50/100Mbps or whatever speed that you subscribed, then there's no point proceeding to Router test. As some Routers will give you 'fake' results... Yes TP-Link Archer C7 does give you 50Mbps. * Beware of the older batch of this Router, compatibility issue was reported by some users. Thanks. Do D-Link Wi-Fi Router is recommended? |
