Methinks a 500mbps user would need a gigabit class router. WiFi at least N600 and LAN ports supporting gigabit ethernet.

QUOTE(thejumpinjack @ Mar 23 2016, 12:46 AM) Nope wrong info. I checked with TIME call center. As long as you maintain your old subscription e.g. 10Mbps @ RM129, you will enjoy the same price for 100Mbps @ RM129. Forever ever until you terminate or change package. RM129 for 10->100New customers will pay the new market price -> 100Mbps @ RM149 RM179 for 100withQuota->300 RM179 for 20->300 RM219 for 30->500 RM249 for 50->500 For as long as we don't terminate? Wow, users on 30Mb@RM219 untung lo - 'discount' RM80 from RM299 forever. This post has been edited by kmrdeva: Mar 23 2016, 01:00 AM |

QUOTE(panda-man @ Mar 23 2016, 01:08 PM) yah, same as my bro. but as the other poster said. its not rugi bro. its just untung less. still cheaper than RM299. My guess is this was a business decision by Time mgmt and also due to the contracts signed by subscribers.Perhaps if Time auto-upgrades RM219/30Mb users to 500Mbps and RM249/50Mb users to 1Gbps, we'll feel better? Or maybe if both previously 30Mb and 50Mb subscribers get RM80 discount and pay only RM219 per mth till termination of service? This post has been edited by kmrdeva: Mar 23 2016, 01:17 PM |

QUOTE(tech noob @ Mar 23 2016, 01:44 PM) previously I pay more in order to get the highest speed that available for home user but it doesn't mean that I don't mind to be water fish. Same here, I am paying RM249 for 50Mbps, highest speed available from Time for Home Fibre up till yesterday. Now it just happens to be upgraded to 500Mbps for the same price, which is really great for me. And 500Mbps is still the highest speed from Time. Based on what I know about the upgrade, these are the user scenarios I forsee:
1. 10Mb/RM129 = Yay, now 100Mb! RM20 discount some more, not RM149. 2. 20Mb/RM179 = Yay, now 300Mb! RM10 discount some more, not RM189. 3. 30Mb/RM219 = Yay, now 500Mb! RM80 discount, whoa!! Ha ha 50Mb users pay RM249 and get the same speed as us! 4. 50Mb/RM249 = Yay, now 500Mb! RM50 discount, nice! But how come 30Mb users pay RM30 less for same speed?? 5. 100Mb/RM179 with Quota = Yay, now no Quota! And RM149 a month! Eh, how come we don't get 300Mb for RM179?? Eh, how come 10Mb users get 100Mb but only pay RM129?? 6. New subscriber = Damn it, why the old Time users get better deals?? |

QUOTE(Sylverphyre @ Mar 23 2016, 04:03 PM) Got email saying upgraded to 500mbps, but only getting average of 70-90mbps upload/download. I haven't fully tested with devices on WIFI but on wired LAN to my AC68U, I can get close to 500Mbps on my laptop.Tried resetting modem and router (ASUS RT-AC68U), still no difference. Any ideas? ![]() |

QUOTE(blibala @ Mar 26 2016, 11:35 AM) Currently using tp-link av600 model TL-PA6010 (kit came with a pair) to connect my router in the living room with my home PC in the study room. Stable and relatively speedy. Getting about 300mbps network speed. Am planning to upgrade to the av1200 model soon thanks to Time's crazy Internet speed upgrade. I bought my av600 pair in 2014 for rm200. The new av1200 kit goes for about rm300-rm350 I believe. |

QUOTE(yeapch01 @ Mar 30 2016, 05:24 PM) Dear bro Thanks for your router recommendation bro. The ac68u is indeed a pocket monster!! Happy user here although 500mbps Internet feels a bit overkill. Perhaps will move down to 300mbps instead ha ha.For Average good router - Go for TP link Archer C7 ( less than RM 500) For Above Average good router , Asus ac-rt 68U (around RM 1000) I hope the above is sufficient Thanks Note: Not a heavy torrent downloader. Prefer to stream video, no issues with multiple 1080p streams at the same time. TIME Fibre rocks!! This post has been edited by kmrdeva: Mar 30 2016, 05:33 PM |

QUOTE(mintgadget @ Apr 4 2016, 02:12 PM) i must have dud unit or my setup is screwed. even tried asus merlin latest firmware and no joy still. can't max 500mbps only getting around 250mbps or so. According to this review, the performance you're getting on wireless with the AC88U seems to be par for the course.https://lesterchan.net/blog/2015/11/30/asus...-router-review/ With my Time Fibre connection, I can usually get about 250Mbps in the same room with my iPhone6 and Note5, and 200Mbps in the next room with my TP-Link AC1200 USB wifi adapter. On wired connection, definitely can get 480+Mbps. Edit: Using an Asus RT-AC68U router with Time Fibre 500Mbps. This post has been edited by kmrdeva: Apr 4 2016, 02:44 PM |
