I updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 8 few hours ago, and I found that my battery is not charging at all despite having the lightning logo! The battery percentage did not go up at all during the charging. Just before I updated to iOS 8 my phone was charging fine from my power bank. Tried hard resetting and resetting with no avail.
My last hope is the battery is broken. (But I just changed the batterya month ago, by the way)
Now I am reverting back to iOS 7.1.2 under DFU mode to see if it solves anything.

Apple will stop signing the iOS 7.1.2 within a day or two after iOS 8 release, which will be today or tomorrow latest. So you have got to be hurry and get lucky if you're reverting. At this point I am still able to revert...

No big deal with not updating (personal opinion), no major difference, except that you get a new Health app, some minor widgets in notification centre, and more importantly... the control centre became so ugly!!!
Now pray pray my phone can recover from this

UPDATE: My phone is finally charging! So I willllll say it is caused by iOS 8 update Will stay on iOS 7.1.2 for some time then...

You can't restore an iOS 8's backup to current iOS 7.1.2, but you can do it the other way round...
