The reason I heard from Thai people is, most of them feel that analog UHF & CRT TV still usable why to change ? If govt force them to adapt because compulsory to switch off ANALOG signal, then authority should provide financial assistance !
QUOTE(RAMChYLD @ Jun 6 2014, 02:51 PM) I agree with this. Instead of giving only to eligible, they should give a RM100 voucher to everyone. Even rich country like US give voucher to every citizen during their Digital transition. And I mean everyone. My friend got a voucher, and so did his mother who lived in the same house. It's not like the decoders are expensive anyway. They only got US$20 voucher, and that's enough to get a baseline no-HD decoder with only analog out which is more than enough for most people who still using CRT TV. Also, those with certain TV sets ie. the Sony W804A TVs, are already prepared- those can receive T2 signals out of the box. |

QUOTE(izz70 @ Jun 17 2014, 12:54 PM) Can my LG Smart TV with DVB-T tuner tune in/scan for DVB-T2 Channels by 2015? I bought mine way back in 2010 before DVB-T2 was available (2011). I am afraid NO. DVB-T2 capable for both but DVB-T can't go for T2 reception. Ideology same as microsoft word 2013 can open .docx & doc file but microsoft word 2000 can only open .doc extension but not .docxIf no then guess that I'll have to purchase a set-top box then. Anyway, hurrah for getting those less fortunate to get coverage first (Northern States Peninsular and Sabah & Sarawak). All this while most areas in Klang Valley enjoy the extra FTA Channels. A good move by the government so to say (I am not pro government or pro opposition but always will laud for things that benefit the rakyat). |

I recommended that user who received their DVB-T2 signal displayed their location under their respective profile or avatar, easy for references.

I didn't sell these boxes. The DVB-T2 I'm using now, get from Hatyai Tesco-Lotus shopping mall cost RM99.
If you planned to go Thailand for this long holiday you may find DVB-T2 in electrical shops, Big-C & Tesco-Lotus shopping mall and 7-11 convenient store. Thai have more than 20+ types of DVB-T2 stb ranging from RM69 to RM 120+. RM69 model only have basic features. Malaysia DVB-T2 broadcast format fully compliant with Thailand and Singapore DVB-T2 broadcast format at the moment. Thai DVB-T2 box which is approved by NBTC at only RM69. ![]() ![]() http://www.thaidigitaltelevision.com/famil...top-box-review/ Language available in English and Thai in menu settings, List of THB690 (690 บาท) or MYR/RM69 and equivalent or higher, higher price means more features equipped DVB-T2 set top box in Thailand. You may click for review (รีวิวกล่อง) at last column in Thai language, just see pictures if can't understand Thai. A pic better than words sometimes. http://www.thaidigitaltelevision.com/set-t...-near-690-baht/ Apparatus approval sticker from NBTC (National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission) which is equivalent to our MCMC pasted on STB comformed to DVB-T2 standard. ![]() Links for Thai DVB-T2 stb references. http://www.pantipguide.com/%E0%B8%95%E0%B9...8%9A-set-top-b/ http://www.maamai.com/tv-digital-690-set-top-box-coupon/ THB690 voucher for local ppl to redeem box price from Thai govt (NBTC) as part of subsidy per household. One house one voucher no matter how many members of family live in. For example, if slightly expensive THB890 stb purchased, BOX PRICE minus THB690 VOUCHER = THB200. , meaning THB200 or RM20 absorb your own. DVB-T2 boxes also available at 7-11 convenient shop at RM69. Available at cross-border Malaysia-Thai 7-11 too. http://www.oopsmobile.net/stb-tv-digital-7-11/ ![]() These are Thai digital tv channels receivable in Changlun, Kedah; about 10km to Malaysia - Thailand border. ![]() This post has been edited by nag: May 1 2015, 01:46 PM |

QUOTE(Teroid @ May 18 2015, 01:32 PM) Not like NHK, DW, TV5 France or BBC News (FTA), CNN no free even if you use big parabolic dish, it is encrypted. If they included in DTT, it may be encrypted for subscription. Don't so happy at the first place. Company who lead this DTT broadcast need to pay royalty to CNN and some other channels if rebroascast for local. |
