in Malaysia, bugis is considered Malay.

let me clear it up alittle bit more, bugis is one of the people considered malay among others.

the second statement is abit inaccurate, some muslims in malaysia are not bumiputeras, like muslim-indians (mamak) and sabah sarawak got non muslim bumiputras.
