BST-33 (900 / 950 mAh) can be used in M600, K800i, W850i & W950i.

I think I'm beginning to understand the modus operandi of an AP phone seller.  To sell the phone, we know that the typical customer will assume all K800 phone packages are equal and consider two main things - selling price and trade in value.

Therefore, I have to have the lowest selling price or convince the buyer to pay more for the warranty.  I also need to give a competitive trade in value.  So lets say I do the following things:

1. convince the buyer to pay rm100 more for 'one year warranty on lcd, phone and camera' compared to no warranty or one month warranty other ap phones come with compared with other ap k800 sets.  offer to write the extended warranty on the customer's receipt (white copy) and not on the carbon copy which goes to the company.  is the extended warranty really sanctioned by the company? i don't know. 

legal note: probably have to send a photocopy of the white copy receipt to the company at its official address so that they have actual notice of their agent's (the salesman's) representation instead of relying on deemed notice to ensure the warranty is valid in event of a claim.

2. Replace the 950 mah battery that originally comes with the phone with a 900 mah battery.  The 900 mah battery can be purchased for rm106 retail from novacell.  Probably cheaper for trade buyers.

2. Repack the 950 mah battery in a sony case and sell as new for rm200+ (profit rm100).  Then use part of the profit to give rm50 more on the trade in value of the used phone.

3. sell the m2 card for a rm50 profit.  from sony wings, its about rm180 for the 512mb card. in swp, its at least rm220 to rm 250.  if can sell the phone, count on the buyer being in a rush to buy the m2 card as well and upsell him.

4. keep the m2 box when the customer walks away.  the m2 box contains an m2 adaptor which hopefully the customer won't miss.  sell the adaptor.  if the customer comes back for the adaptor claim "i didn't know it was there" and give him the adaptor.

the above really happened to me.

for buyers of ap sets please check:

1. the phone (obviously)
2. the battery (should be a 950 mah one)
3. the charger (should be a special one which can plug in hands free while charging)
4. the warranty (is it worth the paper its written on)

5. the m2 card price should be comparable to sony's official price of rm180 for 512 mb and rm290 for 1 gb
6. make sure you get the m2 adaptor so that you can use a card reader to access your m2 card.

in other words, caveat emptor when buying an ap set...
