The picture above was not caused by ATGM penetration but caused by a grenade that was thrown into the open turret hatchet of the Abrams by a ISIL member. And according to the caption from the source link before that happened it was hit by a RPG above the turret. Don;t know why the Iraqi Abrams crew left the turret hatchet opened in a combat zone. A BIG mistake. Or maybe the Iraqi Abrams weren't equipped with AC .

I've seen also a Syrian T-72 that suffered the same end by a grenade that was thrown into the turret because the crew left the turret hatchet opened.

Video of the Syrian T-72 destroyed by FSA rebels by grenade. There was 2 attempts. Don't know before if the 1st attempt the T-72 was firing it's gun or caused by a grenade blast through it's barrell. 2 grenade was thrown into the opened turret hatch. Clearly show that the T-72 was alone without any infantry support.

A correction from my previous post. The pics shows a projectile coming down into the completely opened turret hatchs of the Iraqi Abrams. Once it was disabled a ISIL member is shown throwing a grenade or some kind of a bomb into one of the Abrams hatch.

Or maybe like what you said that the Abrams was already abandoned.

Tiger for TNI-AD Will be Introduced in October



Paris. Upacara kebesaran HUT ke-69 TNI akan menjadi ajang pertama bagi 'macan' baru TNI memperkenalkan diri kepada warga Indonesia. Macan itu sedang dalam tahap akhir persiapkan fisik di benua Eropa.

Macan itu adalah helikopter serang Eurocopter Tiger H61. Mereka akan melengkapi helikopter serbu MI 35 dan Apache memperkuat TNI AD. Selain itu ada tiga kapal fregat multifungsi untuk TNI AL yang sedang dibangun di  Manchester, Inggris.

"Seluruh alutsista yang baru ini akan ikut dalam peringatan Hari TNI 5 Oktober," kata Wamenhan Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin di Paris, Jumat (26/6/2014).

Wamenhan berkunjung ke Paris bersama rombongan Komite Kebijakan Industri Pertahanan. Selain itu mereka ke Belanda juga untuk memastikan perkembangan seluruh alutsista yang dipesan Indonesia untuk jajaran TNI.

"Saat ini seluruh pesanan itu sudah dalam tahap akhir dan akan segera dikirim secara bertahap ke Indonesia," sambung matan Pangdam Jaya ini.

Sjafrie merasa puas karena selain pembelian alutsista ada banyak tawaran bagi pengembangan kerja sama industri pertahanan. Terutama untuk Pindad yang terbuka peluang bagi pengembangan panser Anoa serta kendaraan tempur dan amunisi lainnya.

Bersama Dirut Pindad Sudirman Said, Wamenhan bertemu juga Presiden Volvo Group, Stefano Chmielewski untuk membicarakan pasokan mesin Renault sebagai sumber tenaga Panser Anoa. "Pindad sudah memproduksi 250 unit panser kebutuhan TNI AD. Sekarang Pindad mempunyai kesempatan untuk memasok 250 unit lainnya dan Renault bersepakat untuk memasok kebutuhan mesinnya," kata Sjafrie

Satu kemalangan jalan raya melibatkan sebuah kenderaan armor ATM jenis Sibmas di KM232.6 Plus arah Selatan. Kenderaan ini membawa empat orang anggota.

Dikhabarkan kemalangan berlaku apabila kenderaan tersebut hilang kawalan dan melanggar bahu kanan jalan dan terbalik ke kiri bahu jalan.
