Private banker or just normal PSC (where you serve at counter)?

In OCBC, PSC and Private banker management is not the same with normal teller staff

Sorry boss...
PFC, Teller and Associate post are entry level posts in OCBC bank.
Eventually you will need to move to other higher post, hence the turn overall is expected to be high...

He simply means the turnover is high due to the nature of the job. PFC's (or most front end consumer facing jobs) are usually open to new graduates, thus the high turnover could be due to the stress that comes with the job that you have never really faced before in uni time or the fact that many of them resigned because it is not their calling.

i previously worked in banking line. Knew a lot of friends in banking line too.

OCBC is known to offer higher basic salary, but for PFC u cant really earn a lot from the comm compare to the direct sales team.
Sales target? Yes bank's target is known to be high and will only get higher and higher and endless every month. But also their comm is high too rclxms.gif (if you can hit)

PFC has to learn the knowledge of EVERY products, and all include in your KPIs, you hardly focus and hit every segment alone. in order to hit target and get the comm, you'll need to learn to get along with other specialist bankers( P.loan dept, Mortgage, CC), learn to cross sell pass case to benefit each other brows.gif

bankers social a lot? yea its good to know other bank's banker, cz you'll get customer referrals from them, its good for long term career icon_idea.gif

good luck to get into banking environment thumbup.gif you'll fit it wink.gif

sales not really about overtime sis. If you meet your target or within close range of your target your boss will close 1 eye to anything you do either the way you work, going home early, taking many off day...its feels like heaven if you are the consistent top performer...heck my ex colleague is such top performer in MBB telesales he just need to make calls barely 30 minutes per day and the rest he loiter around our office building, smoking or just sleep at our pantry sofa rest of the office hours.

The opposite is true as well if u are not able to reach/behind schedule of ur daily, weekly or monthly sales target.... you will be forced to stay back almost daily....ot on weekends....your off day, productivity will be scrutinized...the top management will try to find fault why u didnt perform..

Not to discourage you from this field....but dont be average in sales....be the best...the top 5% or top 10%..thats where the recognition and big bucks is...if you cant make it better change career fast....if not your career growth can get screwed badly...

Personal banking= consumer banking

Consumer banking= sell normal customer product like credt card, personal loan, home loan, overdraft loan, insurance, etc

Associate= Outsource 3rd party/subsidiary of the company with less benefit

This one could be a good or bad thing. Some outsource company being paid highly. Some outsource company take a big cut and pay you less of what you deserve

Unit trust is very easy, i think u google also can know what it is...

Structured deposit is a hybrid between fixed deposit, currency exchange, stock market, unit trust....my personal pov i dont trust structure deposit 😅 Always failed to deliver
