Which mission would you guys describe as the most tedious?

I'd say the mission where you clear the road for the Redball Express. I started out at the farmhouse and slowly lost almost all my units to repeated attacks from Panzers (I was left with 1 Sherman and a few engineer squads). Retreated back to the Forward Base in the low corner.

By this time I was low on resources and I sent some Engineers to capture some strategic/fuel/ammo points...which should be a simple task.

I was wrong....the bloody krauts kept on harassing my resource points and capturing them back. Had to use 2 Shermans as rapid response units to kill off the annoying krauts whenever they started attacking my resource points (I know Shermans aren't exactly fast but I just like them).

In the end I was dispatching a Sherman and an Engineer squad to capture resource points...every resource point had at least 2 MG nests to fend off the pesky jerries.

Spent like 2 hours on that single mission...captured almost all of the resource points, fortify each with 2 MG nests, bloody tiring.

My most tedious mission 8 where u have to hold the the town of St Fromond... Really I had my caliope spam missle like crazy to hold of the hordes of panzers.

I had to give up a inch of space every 10min because of Nebelwelfer and Artilerry strikes... really tedious Had to play 3-4 times to win.
Yalor Tiger.. is a nightmare.. ! shot can bring down a AT gun.

Panther also quite strong but AT gun can bring it down with AP rounds.

I dunno about u guys i find that Mass Rangers can bring panthers down quite easily.

Rangers > Rifle and Airbone... For me.

I just passed that mission...used 3 shermans to wipe all the Nebelwhatever sites. Didn't go capturing any resource points, just turtled in the town center.

blink.gif AP means Anti Personnel.

Like I said above, you can defeat any tanks using AT guns by attacking them first and out of the tank's range. My Tiger tank, the most powerful tank in the game, was destroyed by multiple attacks of AT guns which are out of my Tiger tank's range. Presumely, you can use snipers for giving the AT guns for more line-of-sight.

AP can also mean Armour Piercing, yo.

Fires rockets instead of motar shells, brudder.

Anyhow, I find not having the 101st in some missions to be a PITA when you come across armour. Sticky bombs suck terribly.

As for AT guns...its either micromanaging them or deploying multiple units to Same cover multiple angles. Very annoying to find them rooted to the same angle while a bloody StuG IV sneakily pounds the shit out of your infantry not far off.

.... The trouble is when i leave my Shermans, Hordes of Panzers and Infantry come knock the Main point...

So the only way like u said Turtled which i had to give up inch by inch and constanly having enginners behind to repair the tanks non stop.

Sticky Bombs are good , Since Panzer and Panther are slow so throwing sticky bomb damage their engine and turn em half life, Help Ur Sherman to kick their ass.

P.s I really love the Pershing.. Look so damm cool.

I just replayed that mission again cause CoH crashed while transitioning to the next mission, used the same strategy.

Here's how I did it, you're welcome to describe how you passed this mission too.

1. Right after capturing the town square, just defend all attackers, send some Paratroopers into the buildings which are northwest to the town square with Bazookas. Kutip as many Panzershreks as you can, each squad can have 1 Bazooka and 1 Panzershrek. MG squads/nests help too.

2. Churn out as many Shermans as you can, don't bother with the Crocodiles, just 1 Croc will do, make sure all tanks have that .50 cal MG upgrade.

3. Deploy some AT guns to aim at vital points. I deployed them deep in the town square.

4. Watch your rear, flakwhatever or an APC might curi-curi datang. Deploy 1 Sherman right after the bridge.

-When the Nebelwerfer alert is flashed

Send 2 Shermans to wipe off the Nebelwerfer sites...don't loiter, right after destroying the Nebelwefers then send them to the next site. Having the Crab mine flail upgrade kinda helps against those Panzershrek assholes. Remember if you see a 88, kill it first before attacking the Nebelwerfers (duh).

I started with the leftmost one first, the proceeded clockwise. Shermans still had around half life after finishing the N-sites.

Be careful not to neglect the town square though...build a queue of Shermans and place the rally point in the town square to ensure constant supply of Shermans. If there's too many kraut infantry...just paradrop some 101st behind them.

edit: I didn't bother using the Nebelwerfers. Couldn't spare any units to protect them.
