Need some advise. How big an impact in getting 27' monitor with (Full HD)1920 x 1080? Was tossing the idea between 24 or 27. Extra space is nice but my budget doesn't allow for higher than FHD.

My usage is mostly web surfing, youtube & very casual gaming.

Thanks in advance. smile.gif

If want to go 27" go for 1440p or above.
1080p at 27" looks weird.

Hi guys, have a question.

I just got myself a U2718Q and I scale 150% since it's the recommended setting to mimic the 1440p on my U2712HM monitor.

If I play a YouTube video on 4k, will I see 4k content or just 1440p content?

Is i7 4790 enough to handle 4k 60fps YouTube? Just want to check and verify if there's a hardware limitation on my part. 99.99% CPU utilization when watching in Google Chrome.

Woah I don't dare to order online. Now I order direct from Dell only.
My U2718Q I order online RM 2,299 (retail RM 2,499) end up is a refurbished unit that doesn't exist in the Dell database.
So as you know warranty claim is a hassle and I missed out on Dell's outstanding premium panel guarantee.

just received my Dell S2721DGF today, a quick check on Dell's website shows that it comes with Dell's 3 years Advanced Exchange Support and it's manufactured in December 2020

I'm feeling a bit doubtful here since craxors said he called Dell and Dell confirmed no stock, takut it might be a refurbished unit  confused.gif
but everything I check with shows it's a brand new unit, maybe I'm thinking too much  sweat.gif

Check the service tag and make sure it's the same as Dell's website.

Hi guys, any recommendation for 32" 16:9 ratios, 2k or 4k resolution?
Price don't know what are the range now.

My current monitor BenQ warranty is 3 years, now after 3.5 years it spoils dry.gif

Hey guys wanna ask how's Acer's monitor, do they really break down after a year or two after use as other forumers here say?

I bought an Acer XV270p June last year, got a replacement unit due to power issue (after switching off PC the monitor will not go to sleep/ standby mode, display will flash whole night until the next morning unless you switch the power off)

And then the replacement unit I got also have the same issue so I decided to live with it  doh.gif  (So maybe my first unit is totally fine.. just design flaw or something)

Then another half a year passed, the entire bottom panel starts flickering.. I did some diagnostic and found either the DP port or the monitor is faulty because it's fine with HDMI..

I then carried the monitor to service center to diagnose and to fix, got the same response that they cannot fix and will replace new unit for me.. Reason because parts phased out lol. Maybe it is really a design flaw so they discontinued.
They offered me to:
1. Top up RM300 for xv271Z. 280hz nitro monitor.
2. Top up RM350 for xv272up. 2k 144hz nitro monitor

Or swap to: (no charges)
3. ED320QRP (32" VA 144hz curve)
4. VG271S (similar spec with XV270P but non height adjustable)

I went for the VG271S as I am actually happy with my previous unit and I use VESA mount so with or without the adjustable stand makes no difference.

Now I wonder if I should sell and look for other monitors.. Scared and tired of going to the service center and waiting for weeks  sweat.gif

Not a fanboyism post but this is the exact reason why I've always gone for Dell when it comes to monitor purchases. I've had a similar experience with LG and Acer monitors in the past. Dell support so far has been outstanding with 1-to-1 exchange at your location. They bring the panel come, swap with you, no questions asked. Minimal downtime.

Just buy from Dell if possible, or buy from authorized distributors and verify their unit is Dell Malaysia unit.

Thanks for sharing.. I am indeed leaning more towards Dell now.. Even though paying slightly premium I think it will be worth it for a peace of mind. Btw, is LG like that too? If not mistaken they manufacturer themselves right? I'd expect not much problem coming from them..  shocking.gif

They don't have a direct sales channel here so the warranty still has to go through retailers (All IT etc). Can take a few weeks.

My take is this:
Critical workflow requires screen uptime: Dell.
Budget: Prism. The features are hard to beat if you're not the fussy kind. (Their warranty hmm ... don't really like it, 3 dark, 5 bright)

Also buy from Dell directly if possible for easier warranty procedures in the future. See my experience when I try to be smart to save RM 500: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=4960123&hl=
Use shopback.

Just sharing an experience here.
Recently bought Dell G3223D from Dell, shipped within 2 days.
Then detected 1 bright pixel.

Send email to Dell.
approved warranty in 24 hours.
Dell policy is we replace even if you detect 1 bright pixel.

Is it worth to upgrade warranty for Dell Ultra-sharp monitor  sweat.gif

~MYR450 - 1 year
~MYR700 - 2 year

My U2720Q/QM warranty ended in Nov 2023...  icon_rolleyes.gif

Dell warranty only worth to upgrade at time of purchase. If post purchase it's totally not worth it. They jack up warranty upgrade price 2-3x.

Is it normal to see the red colour turn to orangish red when HDR is on in your monitor when in desktop?

It is not common if your HDR is truly HDR with proper calibration out of the box.

Normally a monitor with mininum HDR 400 or below will have this issue.
HDR need to be at least HDR 600 and above, HDR 1000 is recommended and OLED display is highly recommended.
*
I see noted thanks the newly bought monitor has this issue.
Maybe because it's HDR400 only.
