Hey guys wanna ask how's Acer's monitor, do they really break down after a year or two after use as other forumers here say?
I bought an Acer XV270p June last year, got a replacement unit due to power issue (after switching off PC the monitor will not go to sleep/ standby mode, display will flash whole night until the next morning unless you switch the power off)
And then the replacement unit I got also have the same issue so I decided to live with it

(So maybe my first unit is totally fine.. just design flaw or something)
Then another half a year passed, the entire bottom panel starts flickering.. I did some diagnostic and found either the DP port or the monitor is faulty because it's fine with HDMI..
I then carried the monitor to service center to diagnose and to fix, got the same response that they cannot fix and will replace new unit for me.. Reason because parts phased out lol. Maybe it is really a design flaw so they discontinued.
They offered me to:
1. Top up RM300 for xv271Z. 280hz nitro monitor.
2. Top up RM350 for xv272up. 2k 144hz nitro monitor
Or swap to: (no charges)
3. ED320QRP (32" VA 144hz curve)
4. VG271S (similar spec with XV270P but non height adjustable)
I went for the VG271S as I am actually happy with my previous unit and I use VESA mount so with or without the adjustable stand makes no difference.
Now I wonder if I should sell and look for other monitors.. Scared and tired of going to the service center and waiting for weeks

Not a fanboyism post but this is the exact reason why I've always gone for Dell when it comes to monitor purchases. I've had a similar experience with LG and Acer monitors in the past. Dell support so far has been outstanding with 1-to-1 exchange at your location. They bring the panel come, swap with you, no questions asked. Minimal downtime.
Just buy from Dell if possible, or buy from authorized distributors and verify their unit is Dell Malaysia unit.
