Oh dear..i did it the same as mentioned..my wife call me crazy now, but still not calibrated..sighhh..what was wrong? Anyone having this issue or just me..i read around, those who installed miui on other phone, had this issue, but not on mi3

Ok..this is freaking funny... Finally it is calibrated!
What i did was, removed my casing..yes! Removed casing, and do the same 8, it is calibrated! Im trying to digest the correlation between plastic casing n magnetometer

Update
From my reading, magnetometer do intefere with ferrous element.. So probably my casing got ferrous

not that I know of from my 2 days experience using it. but 1 thing to note, if you use flip case, u might want to recalibrate your magnetometer for compass. I did that for the 3rd time now when using the flip case..bare, no issue.
