QUOTE(St0rmFury @ Apr 4 2015, 07:47 AM) Thefiguremall is a small business run by one guy so I doubt it makes 500K annually to qualify for gst. regardless... still gotto register and pay. this is a tax to be borne by the consumer, not the retailer/service provider that is cascaded down to the consumer. previously the tax is only applicable to your business if your revenue is more than rm500k/year (ie related to your business) but now it is a tax on the goods and services regardless of your revenue. retailers can claim back the tax they paid to wholesalers through cascading the cost down to the consumers but the consumer has no such avenue and bears the full brunt of the 6% gst. and no, you do not get a 6% off your income tax so yeah, it's gonna be an inflationary effect 'cept that most of the stuff in the inflationary basket is either excluded/zero rated so you'll have a tailored official inflationary figures This post has been edited by WingNut: Apr 4 2015, 12:39 PM |

QUOTE(EXkurogane @ Apr 6 2015, 02:35 PM) BEAUTIFUL Figure >.< exkurogane... imho the test shot has blurred out the awesome details of the god-arc weapon Good Smile did it again By the way she is widely sold out, and already over 20,000yen in Solaris Japan I'm still working on her props for photography, hopefully can finish it in a few days. The 2nd pic is just a test shot. I'm aiming for something warmer in colors to match her base. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

i'm not surprised. i actually think some shops were kinda like asking for it by openly displaying such figures, don't you think so? what you display at home is your business, but displaying it openly in public is a different matter altogether. just my two cents.

QUOTE(EXkurogane @ Apr 9 2015, 01:13 PM) Well, the problem with this country, if your religion doesnt allow you to own this or that, sure, no problem. But you should respect the rights of others who do not practice the same belief as you do, their rights to purchase and own something that is illegal to your religion but not to their religion or beliefs. bro... nothing to do with religion la. it'll be interesting to know which religion actually approves of such figures Anyway this is just the authorities seeking attention telling the people they are doing their work. It will be forgotted in less than a month, we hobbyists are not really affected in the long term. but i see your point. that's why i say what you do in your house is up to you la... just don't display in public. what is seen cannot be unseen |

QUOTE(EXkurogane @ Apr 16 2015, 01:35 PM) So guys, anyone with figure orders online having issues lately? wah... serious??? A mutual friend of mine already having problems with kastam - his figure from amiami was deported back to Japan for being too sexy - and it's only wearing swimsuit/lingerie, not even nude. Even Max Factory Momo Bride is also haram now =.= I seriously dunno if my Alter Maki Nishikino, a completely innocent figure, will be affected, a May release with potential delays, but im expecting this tough act by customs to be something only temporary due to the news. In worst case scenario, if deported, i will pay a 2nd round of shipping cost and have it shipped to a friend in Singapore, and pick it up months later from him.... Cheebye leh p.s. had to do a double take since you changed your profile pic exkurogane |
