Something I found at MFC featured posts of the day. Credits obviously do not belong to me lol.

U sure? I bought a hentai manga few months ago declared as books and it passed without a problem.  hmm.gif

what was written on the consignment paper? O.o
did it have the word "books"?

Today, I can cautiously say that, yes, it is possible to import R18 books into Malaysia. I safely received my first batch (out of four) of C88 doujinshi today. It's perhaps because I tried EXkurogane's "trick" of using a university as an address.

Not just today actually. I got my first uncensored, English-translated H-manga last month. If you guys recall from my earlier posts I also got my ero-artbook some months earlier this year.

For the doujinshi, since Tenso allowed you to edit the information that appears on the invoice, I changed it to "Lifestyle Goods" instead of "Books". Although the manga and artbook I got was still labelled as "Books" on the invoice though.

Wish I can post pics here as proof drool.gif .

But why cautiously, said I?

It also comes accompanied with the sense of dread that instead of the Poslaju man knocking on your door, it's JAKIM or some customs reinforcement officer. And because of the nature of the books, you face the possibility of your name being aired on broadcast by trying to smuggle "contraband" into campus. Worst case scenario, you get brought to the Chancellor to explain your actions.

Anyway, while it's not impossible to import NSFW books into Malaysia, again if you're the kind that likes to live dangerously, I suggest to be as inconspicuous as possible. The student ID trick taught by EXkurogane? Use SAL instead of EMS? Split into multiple shipments? Try everything. You can never be too paranoid.

Let's say customs seize your parcel. They can use the name and address on the parcel to inform JAKIM that you've been "smuggling" obscene material into Malaysia. It's highly unlikely I know, just a very far-fetched reasoning of mine.

Damn, she's one of my sought-after figures at the moment actually. Been lurking on Amiami's pre-owned for a while now looking for her. Yes, she's fairly hard to find now. Loved the details on her dress.

But unfortunately money's kinda meh at the moment. You're looking to just sell, or are open for trades? Any particular figures you're looking for (that I might have)?

A quick question: does anyone have Sorceress from Dragon's Crown, from any manufacturer (Excellent Model from Megahouse, Orchidseed)? If you do, what do you personally think of the figure? Is it any good? Was it worth the money you spent on it?

I'm asking because this just went up, and I've been waiting practically forever for it:

Thing is, well.

It costs 18,000 yen. And I'm not about to pay close to RM700 for an 'effin 1/7 scale figure.

So I'm back to considering other alternatives.

I've been eyeing the 1/4.5 scale A+ one, because while it still costs around 18,000 yen at least it's justified by the size. I like the overall sculpt of the Alphamax one too, but it's unfortunately 1/8 scale. What do you guys think?

Forgot to post purchase links.

http://native-global.ecq.sc/nachwd00003.html. Will not post to Malaysia so you might need a proxy for it. Speaking of which, anyone tried proxy for figures?

https://www.nippon-yasan.com/figures/14000-...ed-edition.html. Sold out within three hours lol. Just putting it out there in case more is available.

I think it's actually one of the cheaper Native figures at 14,800 yen. At 1/6 scale, summore a figure from one of my favourite artists, so it's a sure pre-order for me.

1. The quality of Megahouse's figures are consistently amazing. I had the elf one, and couldn't be happier (though it cost a fair bit less)
2. If you are those 'bigger is better' collectors, then sure, look elsewhere. But, in my opinion this version of the sorceress is by far the best version out there. It's classier and the level of detail is unmatched. But yes, about the price. I wonder who decides this things. 18,000 yen is very hard to swallow. I'm still on the edge on this. I would really like to own it, but not sure whether i should take the plunge.
*
Thanks for the feedback! For me, Megahouse's figures simply look bland; they're well made, of course, but boring. I was really considering getting POP Nami, Robin and Perona but decided not to, because they all look boring for me. I know that's not always the case, so I'll give it more thought.

I'm more like "bigger figures usually mean more details, right?" kind of collector. Sure, I've had a few large scales that lack detail, and smaller ones that are super detailed, but I still prefer large figures simply due to them having larger "presence" in my room.

Of all versions of Sorceress I think I like the Orchidseed version the best. But just to be safe, I'll probably try to pre-order the Max Factory version on Amazon Japan and wait for the Orchidseed version to finish prototyping; this way, if the Orchidseed version turns out phenomenal, I'll cancel the Amazon Japan pre-order.

I must have missed your question earlier on which version of sorceress is the best
Orchid Seed is like a no-brainer option to me; very happy with their quality, and they are literally are a 'boobmaster', they are one of the best at sculpting *that part. Of course it still depends on which pose u like the best, there r other factors for u to consider.

If u ask me to name this 3 companies: Orchid Seed, GSC and Megahouse and ask me to rank them based on my experience, Megahouse easily ranks the last place (3rd). But it'd be to presumptive to say Megahouse's version will be bad even before release. It's not that they r bad, they produce decent figures but not quite up there with the top dogs in the figure industry.

Just got this on Friday.

Can't really argue with you on the bolded part there, lol.

I wonder if I should open her up. The box I think looks good enough that I don't feel the need to place her in my Detolf, and the accompanying illustrations suit the figure well.

*crap phone camera quality, because someone stole my DSLR SD card.

Megahouse I think is great for newcomers to figure-collecting. They manufacture figures from well-known series, and their prices are usually much more reasonable. While I personally dislike smaller scales, some collectors prefer the smaller scales. I would've been collecting their Sekai Seifuku Sakusen line of figures, if not because they're 1/10.

On the other had, I don't think if Orchidseed has ever produced figures that are not NSFW? Even from series that are not 18+, Orchidseed figures of such series does come with castoffable torsos.

Ummm... I'm sorry? I've never had Amiami mistook my choice of international shipping. In fact, even though I have issues with how most Japanese-run webstores handle international shipping, mistaking SAL for EMS (or any other kind of shipping) was never an issue.

Did you perhaps mistakenly selected EMS when the payment request came?

Or, it might be possible that when you initially placed the order you chose SAL, but the total for SAL came up more expensive than EMS (it's possible, yes) so Amiami took the liberty of changing it for you. Although even then before checking out, there should be a page where you can change the shipping method as you like.

I chose SAL small packet originally (I don't mind waiting longer for my parcel) to save cost, I estimate it will cost about 1700 JPY from past experience. I did my homework in checking out the box sizes and estimating how much space they will take in a SAL parcel, they should fit nicely. But Amiami told me that it's not eligible for SAL due to the size. So I grudgingly accept that maybe I was wrong in my calculations and picked EMS at 2700 JPY. When the parcel arrived, I facepalmed at how much space was wasted and that my original estimation using a SAL parcel was correct. So I paid extra 1000 JPY for no reason.
*
Ah, I see. I believe Amiami pointed out that it was ineligible for SAL was not because of your purchase + packing material + box size, but that simply your purchase (meaning just the stuff you bought minus the packing material) exceeded either the weight or the total dimension allowable for SAL. I face it all the time with my proxy when buying books, as in while the books can easily fit an A4-sized document envelope, they refused to do SAL because it's over 2kg or something. So the vice-versa might be possible; that while your figures might not weigh much, they'd still have to use EMS because the dimension is too large.

QUOTE(EXkurogane @ Oct 24 2015, 05:14 PM)
That is nothing compared to what i got from Amazon  rclxub.gif They give the invoice some space too, and there was even no paddings of any sort.
At least i wasnt charged for the big box, but i actually like how amiami pads thieir contents because i have seen too many cases of daaged figure boxes. Amiami probably doesnt want to deal with too many damaged box complaints (which are not liable for compensation as long the content - the figure itself - is not damaged).

Thanks to currency rate.

Then the update would be something else. Usually, "Send to office" would mean it's out from customs and on its way to the delivery office.

Wait for the next update. I bet you it'd be something like "Arrive at delivery office".

As for exceeding the RM500, well, it's really something of a luck actually. You can expect parcels worth more than RM500 would have a higher chance of being stopped, but in reality it's more or less up to the officer checking your parcel.

just to share some experience hope it might help  biggrin.gif
well eventually my item is held by custom, not my 1st time though. i usually just use pos malaysia to settle them which is hassle free
-> go to nearest pos office & collect which is the best choice for me n most economical
-> ive tried once for pos malaysia to send it to my house but the charges r insane!  doh.gif  sweat.gif  which faking make no sense, never use this option again

well this time ive try the 3rd option for the 1st time -> go n settle myself
im live in klang n driving to klia is... FAR! around 1 hour! go through 2 tolls, around rm7-9, umm ~55km maybe, so thr goes the oil for ~55km ... forth n back so 2x ...
well finding the road to the klia custom is quite easy, mostly just highway, phew phew n reach edy  nod.gif

the parking is very easy n free , lots of space -> take pass go in custom -> bla bla bla process....

ok here's the awkward part, u need to take ur item to the custom officer & he will tell u to open up the item... well infront of whoever is there, several officers n sum other people that come n collect their stuff  sweat.gif
then the checking, verification n asking between officers n me, plus my item is a naked doll  doh.gif  LOL the awkwardness is over9000... [well i think it will be equally awkward if its a sexy figure or something similar XD]
well the officers thr r ok n polite, give a  thumbup.gif  here, everything is manageable.

my item have been declare lower so ive only pay ~rm48 for tax, which is a bless  biggrin.gif . item being held is all chances, the box is very small compare to other figures/dolls ive buy which is wayyyy bigger but pass through custom.

conclusion: 2-3hours time to drive there, take item n back, toll & oil, the AWKWARDNESS n hassle through the process of claiming item, well for me its not very worth it. unless u r staying very very near to klia.
another of my thought is the chances of ur item get ''rampas'' is higher when u go claim it urself than pos help u to settle, just a thought only not 100%

well wat r u guys experience in this, share share some thought or story  biggrin.gif
Interesting. Thanks for sharing!

I've never had any of my stuff being held by customs, whether exceeding RM500.00 or not. My current parcel just *might* stand a chance of being flagged though; for various financial reasons, I had to consolidate all my purchases for this month, totalling close to RM1500 instead of the usual rule of splitting purchases to RM500.

Some questions I'd like to ask:

1. What's the total value of the parcel that you had to go pick up at KLIA?
2. How was it decided that your tax would be RM48? I assume the officer assigned a percentage based on what the figure/Smart Dolls fall categorically into?
3. Aside from the uncomfortable atmosphere, did the officer gave you a lecture? Or said something like "buying stuff like this corrupts your soul; I'm gonna be nice this one time but if I ever get a parcel like this again I'm confiscating it"?

Zero Suit Samus by GSC will be getting a third re-release.

http://goodsmile-global.ecq.sc/top/maxscawd00013-02.html

Totally came out of the blue. Would this mean there'll be a new Metroid game?

I've been wanting to get my hands on her but couldn't due to the ridiculous aftermarket prices. Resellers worldwide will cry in unison lol.

EDIT: slated for May 2016 release, exclusive on GSC Online shop. You won't find it on Amiami it would seem. Nippon-Yasan listed her as a reissue for 20,500 yen. Unless you're out of GSC's applicable countries, don't order from there I guess.

So you know how I had to consolidate both of these (Cat girl and Bunny girl) in one shipment, yeah? (No you don't know).

Total cost for both was around RM970. I chose EMS because there were only 200 yen difference between that and RSAL.

I paid for my order on 29th October and it was sent out on 30th. Not one day later, it arrived at KLIA. It's 9th November now, and it's still stuck in customs.

There wouldn't be any difference had I chose RSAL, in fact I probably would've gotten the parcel quicker what with RSAL apparently raising less attention from customs.

Sigh.

Last Friday, I got a call from customs officer, saying that my parcel was held at customs. The officer told me that she'd have to hold the parcel while she figures how to tax me (she never mentioned anything about inspecting the contents though). She did offer me choices on how to obtain the parcel, which was either by self-collection at KLIA or have Poslaju deliver for a fee. Being busy this week I opted for Poslaju delivery.

Received another call today. I have to pay RM110.05 to collect my parcel.

Le sigh.

Let's see if any tampering was done to my purchases when I go and collect later.

On one hand, I do think the whole thing went without much fuss (but then again, I was being honest about everything; the original cost was stated on the invoice, even provided the officer my PayPal statement and payment acknowledgement by Amiami), not even a single question asked about the contents.

On the other hand, effin' RM110.05.

So kids, do try to divide/limit your parcel value to RM500, yeah?

Well, she prefaced the conversation by saying "Hello cik, saya dari kastam...".

Just so we're clear, the fee for appointing Pos Laju/Malaysia as your agent would be RM48 plus GST, regardless of parcel value, right?

EDIT: Ack, you're correct actually. She's the Customs Affair Supervisor of Pos Malaysia. Nothing to do with our customs department I'm afraid.

Yup. It is actually worth it, because, the customs release form alone is RM36, and then u drive there and back u spend on petrol...

Right. That would mean of the RM110.05 I have to pay, I was taxed RM59.17 for my figures.

Still more expensive than having to pay extra for splitting shipments to under RM500 value.

EDIT: Wait, what? I re-read your comment (my reading comprehension has been deteriorating lately lol), do you mean we have to pay for a processing form if I chose to pick-up at customs? Which would mean petrol + RM36 + tax? It would be feasible for those staying nearby KLIA I guess...

Quite happy with how she turned up. Casts off pretty easily too. Can never have too much brown elf in my life.

Accidentally scratched her right elbow when removing her head (you can easily see the hairline scratch on the brown skin), on the MFC page apparently lots of people had the same problem.

The figure placed aside the GSC exclusive oppai mousepad. Really love how the white bunny suit and white hair contrasts her brown skin.

Did not take pictures of the cat girl because I did not unbox her just yet. Anyone here familiar with Skytube figures? It would seem lots of buyers were disappointed with her lack of "sculpted genitals".

Meanwhile, on Amiami:

Not familiar with the source material, nor do I think I can afford her at that price tag, but something about her really *speaks* out to me. It's the railway uniform, right?
