ask your local pharmacist if you must buy it from a pharmacy.

better to ask your GP though.

see a psychiatrist if its caused by something other than work/current events/blabla.

Pharmacists should not be prescribing SSRI-based drugs. They do not have the knowhow to evaluate systemic cause/effect of anxiety based disorders.

See a GP get a referral if necessary to see a psychiatrist.

NEVER get OTC anti-anxiety drug. see a psychiatrist to get prescription.

there are so many drugs in the market, and only a psychiatrist will know what to complement or administer.

there is. every types of anti-anxiety drugs can be found in the pharmacy. but you wont be able to get it without a prescription from your doctor. as simple as that. since your doctor already said because of you are not prepared, why then you go prepare earlier then. that means your doctor had already concludes there is more risk of prescribing anti-depressant drug and its side-effects against the benefit you get from it.

or you can always try those herbal remedies that is said to have calming effect e.g. lavender, chamomile etc.

anti-anxiety drug has huge side-effects / detrimental effects against the body. unless the doctor outweigh benefit to risk, they wont simply just prescribe it.
