i not sure how true is this

what i heard last monday i went to puchong OCBC branch. they inform me that ocbc titanium card will not offer 1% rebate after april.  wonder how true is that...

might consider apply to OCBC platinium or OCBC GE platinium (any bro or sis to enlight me the difference on both card??)

If they don't give anymore, cancel the card, simple as that.

Should I terminate this card?
*
Terminate if this is your first card.
Keep it if your spending average a month > rm4000.
1st card to have, MBB's dual card for the first rm1000.
2nd card, HLB's STUPID card that cover the 2nd rm1000, good for petro, mobile and groceries.
3rd card, Aeon's Watami.
4th card will be this OCBC.

My avg monthly spending is between 2k - 4k per month. How is MBB dual card work actually? I don't have petrol/mobile spending since those are covered by company. So I guess HLB is not that useful for my case. Will try AEON's Watami in that case.
*
Aeon's Watami cash back are given once every 3 months. Do read the T&C.
MBB's dual card is the least restrictions card to earn cash back. Swipe on weekends using its AMEX will be getting 5% of cash back, rm50 max a month. So first rm1000 is for your utilities bill(TM, TNB) and dining.
AMEX are not widely accepted, so have to try & error.
If you are a family man, you can use STUPID card for groceries and another 1 category that can fit your usage, cap it at rm1000 max a month since it has no benefit at all.

Anyone considering UOB ONE card? Any catches?

Too complicated, lazy to read all sweat.gif
But last time before I apply the STUPID, I do go to the bank branch and ask on the details.
At the end, it does not really suit my needs.

isnt the min requirement is rm24k?

the problem with me is the ccris record. though i am good pay master (all 0 in my ccris record), i have total outstanding 1milion of credit facilities (housing loan)
*
That should not be any problem.
For HLB's STUPID card, you need rm60000 minimum, rm70000 will give better chance on getting it.

MALAYSIA is headed towards a cashless society, with the reforms having begun on Jan 15.

As a direct result of Bank Negara’s reforms, Malaysians will start to see a lot more card terminals flooding the market. Banks and merchants will be implementing measures to encourage Malaysians to use their debit cards.

These measures will directly affect the merchants rather than the consumers. Consumers will, in fact, be oblivious, save for the fact that more merchants will be asking them to swipe their debit cards rather than their credit cards.

The interchange fee incurred for debit cards will be significantly lower, while the interchange fee for credit cards will also be capped to ensure consumers are not short-changed.

All debit cards have to be contactless enabled. Thus, all debit cards have to be re-carded by 2017

The debit card interchange fee will immediately drop to 0.15% for domestic transactions and 0.21% for international transactions as opposed to 1% on average.

The interchange fee for credit cards will be capped at an interim ceiling of 1.1% from an average of 1.2% currently up to 2020. It will be brought down to 0.48% by 2021 (if the cost structure remains unchanged).

Currently I'm using my OCBC titanium to capture cash back that is not covered by all my other credit cards, misc items which are typically not entitled for cash back like condo maintenance fee and etc. Any recommendations for another credit which can replace ocbc for my needs?
*
If can use AMEX to pay maintenance fees, then still MBB's dual card. As the TP are worth 1.25% of cash back. No need to pay GST and AF also.

When I applied for the Essential Card, the Hong Leong Bank staff said, all retail transaction except petrol will qualified.

As for Wise Card, let me summon the Expert on Wise supersound

If course, standard retail transaction excluded balance transfers, interest, penalties.

Not sure about easy payment plans.

For this STUPID card, I only see there's only cash back benefits from the 2+1 categories chosen.

Understood, and with Mobile being the Bonus Category, are we getting cashback if we pay mobile using Hong Leong Wise card thru hong leong online banking?

Best of all, HLB's online portal are pretty poor on this.
I'm using Maxis pay to pay my mobile bill.
