second year still need to pay  sad.gif

no choice lor. It's BNM's directive.

What banks can do is offer signup rebate promotions to get us stay for 1 year.

you need to do some rough calculations of your spending behavior whether your annual cashback is > RM50.

OCBC's is 1% unlimited cashback but need to spend at least RM5k just to break-even (year 2 and onwards). Good if you always have large spending but even that, Aeon Watami is still better than OCBC's.

the cons of watami is they need 3k spend quarterly.  sad.gif
*
3k per quarter, 1k per month. better than OCBC's 1% if you're always spending about that range (hence i stated earlier ... "Good if you always have large spending")

yes. but my salary is still low.

dont rush for credit card. there are logical reasons why BNM set the min. income; helping you and the bank.

try some decent basic card (or even debit card like RHB's or CIMB's) for convience, not chasing cashback/reward cuz ultimately you still to repay back to bank for the actual spending anyway.

what card(s) are you holding now?

I have the original Titanium card (with curved design) already. Just wondering why they came out with exact same cards features with ONLY Titanium word on either.
*
i noticed starting this year all banks had realigned their cards' classification vs annual income.

I cancelled my card b4 nxt year gst RM50 kick in the november
*
this year's november havent reach and you're worried about nxt year's november? sweat.gif

by the time GST enforced on 1 April 2015, credit card service tax would be abolished.

slight off-topic, now i see why Maybank2cards enfored 2X RM50 svc tax beginning July 2014. It is a ~1-year strategy until next April 2015 before they dont have to collect for Govt anymore (and absorb 1X RM50 for existing mbb2cards users).

Hi guys, anybody knows the procedure to file for a dispute? There is an unknown transaction this morning (~3am) and an sms has been triggered to me. I called the call
centre in the morning to block my card

The agent advised me to file the dispute if the merchant claimed the $$ as at the moment the transaction is still floating.

Question: Do I need to pay the transacted amount?

Thanks
*
If floating when reported, it can't be claimed by the fraudster. You are safe.

If no action from you, the fraudster claim it and will be charged to your account. Only then you need to file for dispute.

Keep monitoring the account or call CS periodically to ensure the fraud transaction will not go thru.

*
huh? rclxub.gif

http://www.ocbc.com.my/personal-banking/Cards/index.html

check out which card you prefer, read ALL the T&Cs, click Apply Now button, fill up the details, staffs will call you back.

else, if too tedious, visit any booths at shopping malls https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1916038/latest

*
OTC IBG is RM1mil per transaction, subject to each bank's T&Cs. RM30k should be easily go thru.

yep, come 1st April, credit cards' RM50 govt service tax (levied per card approval) will be removed and replaced with 6% GST (levied on service fees, e.g. AF, etc).

dafuq? Means titanium 1% rebate is no longer for any transaction except for online purchase and overseas transaction only?

Time to terminate the card then.
*
effective 1st May, still got time to STOP using the card now, reap the cashback on next statement, then terminate.

ooh...now i understand!!! earning meaning the cashback must be at least RM20, then transaction must be RM2K...GOSH...thank you thank you thumbup.gif

then conclusion, Essential card la better
*
similar to citibank's cashback platinum, min rm50 accumulated cashback baru credited back to you.

if you read the statement, not necessary you MUST spend rm2k. just that you only get back at least rm20 cashback for a spend of rm2k.

however, hlb fortune t&c doesnt mention about rollover, e.g. if your current cashback <rm20, will it be carry-forward to next month?
