Just received a text which says "xxxxx, anda sudah dapat courier service document, sila tandatangan atas electronik certification <insert link here>".

Anyone else got this before? Not sure if legit or not.

Actually I immediately called the number 0177950710 after I received the SMS.

But he said that he had received numerous calls asking the same issue. And he said he didn't know how the person knows my name.

But he did mentioned that he lost his phone bla bla bla, the sim card is still active.. I cannot digest it.

I immediately end the conversation when my wife suddenly came in and ask me what the SMS is all about.

Just got another text yesterday. It's the exact text. Didn't try calling the guy though.

maybe the link will download the .apk (android package) that will install an app. the app will send texts to your contacts. and gather the name of the contact through your phone? idk just guessing.

i received the same sms last week..luckily im still using nokia n73..when i copy the link and open with my pc..it led to .apk installer..so those who using androids..becareful..must be kinda hijack/virus/harmful apk.

Yeap, just inform anyone to stop installing that SIJIL.apk.. When someone install that file, it will read the phone contacts and send the same sms to that person using the contacts name and information.

I already received that sms twice from different number and my name shown in the sms like in their contacts/phonebook.

So I actually run it, it shows package installer trying to install Google Service Framework, a fake one of course.

i've never received it, but I can safely say it's a malware which can read your entire phone's content and can send sms messages to your contacts. hence that's why it will know your 'nama panggilan' and all other personal details or plans you have stored in your phone. heck, i believe if the malware wants, they can even initiate call, send your coordinate to another person, secretly record your video using your phone's camera, etc2... basically anything your phone can do, it can do so discreetly.

so guys (and gals), next time, please treat your phone like you treat your pc.. that is, never open links from dubious sources, or even it's from someone you knew, verify with them first. the damage your smart phone can do to you is far more greater than a damage to your pc could do.

I received the exact same sms..open in,downloaded it (sijil.apk) and innocently install it...yeah after that only that i read the permission for this apps called "google service framework" v2.0..of course fake one as the original is "google serviceS framework" with an "S"..

Damage : after that i cant connect to any of my google accounts from my phone (Maps,Gmail,Youtube etc)...went too Apps,cannot uninstall the GSF (google service framework)..i try download latest original version,install it and nothing happen..what i did then is go to settings > apps > and click the "menu" button..option pop-up "reset app preferences"...only after that the original GSF are running BUT the fake GSF are still there running as well..but atleast i am able to connect to my google accounts...

Not yet done : only when i tot everything is going to be fine, i had problem in receiving my TAC code and MSOS code from Maybank2U (for online transaction)..called maybank,they said their system has sent..called celcom they ask me to change simcard to another phone (and i did it) and i did received the TAC on the other phone,but not my original phone..suspected something got to do with that GSF thingy...

Solution : Exploring my phone again for an hour...trying to unsitall thta fake GSF..finally.. settings > security > device administrator..found that malware fake GSF running as admin..no wonder cant uninstall it..saw and click that "deactivate" button...go back to apps > all > google service framework (the one without 'S') and now only the uninstall button are available...did it nad now i can receive my TAC n MSOS again...

It's rather creepy. My gf and I both received the same messages at just few minutes different but from different number. I contacted it and a malay guy picked up, claiming that another person has called him regarding the same subject but he said he didnt even send any links.

Exactly the same thing happened to me and my wife.

We're quite scary because they even use our 'nama panggilan' in the SMS.

The best way to deal with this is just ignore it!! hahaha..

1. dia dapat your number/contact details by reading all contacts from someone else's phone, like someone who calls you maksu AND saves your contact under Maksu as well.
2. that person installed the apk, jenis stok main tekan OK je instead of baca apa permission apk tu mintak, macam send sms, etc.

so if you can find people who calls you maksu, see if their phones letak maksu as your contact details. then check to see if the apk is installed, duit selalu habis, etc.

Those who called my wife as maksu are my nieces and nephews.

But the people who sent the SMS are someone that we don't know.

So how could that relate?

they have your contacts already, probably from one of your nieces or nephews.

best is to find out whose phone has the app, or some random app. if this sijil.apk is clever enough, it will auto-install some other app to monitor sijil's status - if sijil gets deleted, auto downloads and installs it back.

best is still to do factory reset.

This is why i love iPhones !

On side note , do not install untrusted apk

Received the same sms yesterday night. apk file is basically some coding packed together. I am looking through the coding thoroughly to see what the app will do when someone install it. Will update here after I finished looking through all the coding.

Okay... After looking through the coding, here is what the app will do.

1. Check if it is running on android emulator, if it is running on android emulator, the app will close.

2. The app will autorun when the phone starts up.

3. This is the list of things the app does when it is installed:-
- read phone state
- send sms
- read sms
- write sms
- receive sms
- internet
- read_contact
- receive boot completed

4. It gets your phone number, phone brand and model.

5. It sends your data to a server. (Either the server is not working anymore or the person has set the server to receive data only.)
