Any lubang to find 850cc kancil engine? My engine jammed because engine oil down to zero (dunno what happened). And what's the price like? Am not a Kancil user (I personally own a Gen2), this car was passed down to me after my dad passed away. Help?

Why do u say so? what do u mean as in Jammed? Did get it check or not?

Coz the car broke down and didn't want to start. And when the foreman checked, he said engine jammed. Actually now waiting for the foreman's proper diagnosis (he's dismantling them), but if let say the damage is a lot, I might as well just look for another engine.

Might as well transplant new engine into ur kancil. L5/L6 halfcut available anywhere. ada siput or without siput.. biggrin.gif your choice.. haha..

I'll be frank yea, I have no idea what is L5/L6. But I'll read them up! sweat.gif

QUOTE(davidke20 @ Sep 5 2014, 10:57 AM)
A cheaper solution is getting a 660 (6valve) engine from halfcut shop, get the timing belt replaced, stuff it up with your current gearbox & carburetor, it's easy to fetch around RM1000 labor + part. Puspakom wise, can get it done within 200. 850 engine already vanished from the market due to bunch of morons purposely use the 850 engine to convert with L2 12valve engine head + turbo that kinda powerful rojak engine.
*
What I do know is the carburetor has been replaced with EFI. So not much option for 850? What about a higher one, think it's the 1100? Gawd I'm such a noob with Kancil sad.gif

Plug & play across all Diehardsu injin, so u can still plonk the 660 up without issue. It is up to u what u really want. On a general knowledge for Diehardsu(Perduo)

When car guys/magicians/wannabe refer a bloody Ganjil to L2, meaning the imported MIRA L200 engine. L200 is the chassis number, hence even if u pickup your pink slip and read the chassis number, ur Ganjil is L200 as well. On a not related easier way to understand the performance fever world, on a general basis L2 meaning 3 piston 660cc SOHC 12valves Tebucaj intercooler engine. L200 is the evil twin of Ganjil in Japorn, which Perduo rebadge the MIRA & make it out own Ganjil with low performance.

As for L5, is refering to Diehardsu MIRA L512. Its a 4piston 660cc DOHC 16valves Tebucaj intercooler injin. According to oltaimers, L5 proven to me so marj moar powderful den an L2, moreover its either same prx/cheaper then an L2. Its the kinda popular injin among car mods community. However, history also proven reliability wise, L2 is far superceed L5. I personally believe the truth lies between tuner's ego & engine capability sleep.gif

So, its easy to find local 660cc 6valve engine everywhere, and its compatible with ur 850 EFi. See what u really want. The way I mentioned is the cheapest way if the original engine beyond repair or repair cost more then 1.5k.

This is so insightful. Thank you! Will keep you guys posted on my decision (or if I have further questions) smile.gif

p.s. Took me about a minute to figure what "Ganjil" was doh.gif doh.gif

Can find piston/conrod at chopshop. But be prepared to get chopped as well. Ayam guessing the price you get those will be around 300~500 at the least. Plobrem is, after the overhaul, whether can last oso dunno. All jiu can do is pray that your pomen know his shit, or you may ended up pay a bomb and drive a crap. Why not ask your pomen give you a full quotation to fix it up. Usually they got jalan to find those parts geh, where got pomen go ask customer find parts geh sleep.gif

Pomen only called to let me know of the broken parts. So tomorrow will meet him and discuss the quote. I have no idea sweat.gif how much all these parts cost and whether it's best to source myself or get the pomen to source it for me.

So the next question I have to ask myself is whether to get a new engine. doh.gif

The truth is, if you find part by your own, no doubt can get about 10~20% cheaper compare to pomen quoted price, but be prepare to get slaughter by pomen lar since you buy your own part. Say if you let pomen earn that 10~20% from sparepart, usually they give a reasonable labor charge. However though, if you bring your own part go pomen, mahem sure they slit your throat when came to labor charge. So pandai nah, sendiri cari part for me nah, tibai normal overhaul labor I cas 600, now ayam gonna cas 1000, magahai lu. So, this is the usual situation lor

Jiu go get the full quotation dulu, ask pomen find part for yiu. Normal ganjil injin oberhol around 1k, which is reasonable. With your current situation, if include piston/conrod should be slightly touching 1.5k. If your pomen quote anything below or slightly touching 1.5k for the complete job, then yes save the trouble of engine swap. However, if quotation is above 1.5k, seriously you really need to consider change engine liao.

1.5k. Noted!

So I met one of the mechanics at the workshop (my pomen wasn't there over the weekend) and he said that if I want to change to lower cc, 660cc, I need to do a lot of re-wiring as well. Is this true? And if so, what's the budget like? Thus he asked me to upgrade to 1000cc (or is it 1100cc??)

1.5K might as well u change engine.  sweat.gif Half cut shop carb doesnt cost as much as those Mira engines.
1000cc engine meaning to say change Kelisa engine. Surely u will like how it performs  thumbup.gif

But u need to ask how much la.
*
Ah yes, he recommended the Kelisa engine. But my question is again, will downgrading to 660cc cost me to do re-wiring? If yes, is that 1.5k as davidke20 mentioned previously inclusive of the re-wiring or not?

SUPERNOOB here.

What I meant is 1.5k to install 660cc engine kosong into the 850 platform without changing the wiring at all.
*
I still don't understand. So after install the engine kosong, I need to do wiring or not????

Please speak to me like I'm an idiot from hell, I really don't mind. cry.gif

What I meant is, just take out the old engine block and head. Replaced it with a 660 engine kosong. Basically exhaust manifold, intake manifold everything can be use back from the 850. Do not need to redo wiring.

Hmm. Okay. Good to know this. At least I won't kena kelentong.
