Yup no advertisement in my area McD too, they are promoting the Hello Kitty instead -perhaps it's more profitable, it definitely sells better.today i got yoshi

When I went to buy the Mario Coin Block last Friday, they still offer last weeks' selections for me to choose from so I think you can still buy the first week designs depending on supply surplus.
Maybe they only offer you Yoshi because Mario Coin Block is sold out? It's the best one so far IMO, maybe you can try other outlets.
