i'm guessing Unstable Affliction? 2 damage DoT with a "if destroyed, deal 4 damage" clause.

I like Shadowfury more , though. It's simply brutal. Can shut down everything , then follow up with RoF until t8 when i drop Fel Armor. then gg biggrin.gif

so , what ways are there of removing ongoing abilities? obviously you want to burn off the Unstable Affliction for the damage spike instead of letting it tick.

Thats means Gorebelly rules ... there are 3 Gorebelly decks in the topm5 standard decks in Day 1 of the US Nationals. Dun worry, things will change once FoO becomes legal and that is when the news decks kicks in.
*
dude i know Gorebelly rules tongue.gif what i'm asking is how does a deck like that reach top position after Day 1 ? Or is it just Loconto's pure dumb luck that allowed him to win the first inagural MTG Pro Tour and then never win again? laugh.gif but i'd like to see what is it i'm missing from the deck.

i'm betting that Strength of Arms will be the big card for Warrior.

Okie ... let me explain. Day1 is basically contructed format and Loconto is using a Gorebelly deck which is currently one of the strongest deck around in the current meta. Total rounds for the Nationals are 14 rounds, For Day1 are 8 rounds (constructed) and for Day2 are 6 rounds (booster draft). Loconto's Gorebelly deck got 8-0 in Day1 making him the top player in Day1. Onwards to Day2, Loconto have to at least win 4 rounds out of the 6 rounds in booster draft but sadly he did not manage to do so even tho he is top in Day1. If u win Day1 with 8-0 and in Day2 u loss 6-0 ... u will never be top8.

OK let me make things a bit clearer

why did his deck reach top in day 1. what are the combos and strategy of his deck.

i dont need to know about points and stuff.

why im asking is because it seems funny that a deck with Anger Management(which procs only when you damage a hero) and Shard of the Flame can make top.

I dont need to know about draft results because they don't make a good deck. They make a good player. But i would have you know that good draft results doesn't win you hobby leagues and battlegrounds. Good deck is what is important , and a good understanding of the deck.

ahh now i see. thanks.

i'm surprised that the players didnt run a lot of protectors though. I mean, he definitely had to go up against a Warlock deck sometime , and Anger Management only procs when you damage a hero, and not an ally.

Main decks from German Nationals (inc. FoO)

Lars Bodach - 2nd place - Telrander

Simon Schebben-Neumann - 3rd place - Gorebelly Combo/Control

Marcel Harz - 7th place - Gorebelly Combo/Control

top 16 had 9 Gorebelly , 2 Telrander , 1 Azarak(1st place), 1 Rotun(4th place) , 1 Daspien, 1 Omedus and 1 Grennan. 4 decks from the same team(3rd place) including Jonas Skali were in the top 8.

looks like Gorebelly IS the dominant decklist now. We've come a looooong way from Hunter rush , eh?

brows.gif u mean this? It looks macam sangat POWER punya...but how much is the estimated cost to build such a deck??? Anyway, i'll just start with a puny hero 1st....chain-saw all the way up is the matter of time...i mean money... flex.gif

actually , advice is , don't play a solo deck until u got your basics and stuff straightened out. Not only are solo decks expensive(they rely on equipment alot, which are mostly Unco and Rare) , their mechanics are somewhat different. You generally don't go off until turn 3 or 4, and it can be somewhat disconcerting to see your health total drop to around 15+ before you start doing things.

try going Hunter, Shaman or Warlock. 3 of the easiest , satisfying and cheapest classes around. Since you don't like control , play rush.

i would say though, the metagame has matured a lot since the days when it was only these 3 classes + Gorebelly. now every class has it's good decks. Yes, even Mage. i'm testing an Ozzati build that totally pwns Telrander and rush. But i still cant beat Gorebelly sad.gif

sorry alkt , but 1st place is Jimmy Xing and 2nd place is Paul Van Der Werk .

they just put the deck list in order of Draft Pod. i think Mazar lost in round of 8. I heard it was a good choice for the meta, but i don't expect it to be any good. It's like Bulkas Cruelty during the 1st DMF , took a lot by surprise because of an unprepared meta.

morova is best used in moonkin form , with moonfire and cyclone. i think most druid decks are ally-based as their abilities are pretty weak. it's a pretty obvious support class, unless you go feral.

alliance druid is kinda good , you can kill solo with use of Cyclone and Grint Sundershot.

why not? in a metagame dominated by the big red orc and the two combat rogues , any thing that nerfs solo is considered good.

right now, alliance, shaman and good is pretty hard to find. pretty scary , seeing the combat rogue can kill by turn 5 on a reliable draw, if it doesn't encounter any speedbumps in the first 3 turns.

After playing with my morova deck...i come to a conclusion. she has serious trouble in late game, especially when vs control deck. Moonkin + moonfire may sound good but still too slow, 4 moonfire + sapphiron drape + moonkin sounds idealistic but hard to pull off in reality. n Starifire also cost too much resources to cast.

Thorns provides protection with moonkin or sapphiron drape but morova still takes the pain agaisnt macho hitter like king mukla, yamon, chen, etc....ouch!

another of my problem is always run out of handcards, which is ominous in game! even with zapped giants, poison water, etc, playing abilities will soon exhaust the handcards.

Still have to tweak the deck. It shows its vulnerability immediately against control deck i.e. Paladin and in late game.
*
i am playing a Morova variant. And i can kill paladin, though not all the time. The thing is , i don't have any Moonkin or Moonfire in the deck.

What i am playing is Innervate and Force of Nature. Using tempo drops like Cyclone and Zephyr to slow the opponent down and build board presence, and endgame either Twig+Morlug or Onyxia Tooth Pendant + Force of Nature.

some notable allies include Kagella Shadowmark , which can be a 5/3 on turn 4 with just Force of Nature.

Walau ... Pally rules in DMF London recently and look like more variant decks nowadays. Warlock decks no where to be found. sad.gif

Warlock decks are coming back now. The Christmas Make-a-Wisp Foundation combo is especially brutal.

This is the 3-4 card combo. Turn 5 drop :

Turn 6 drop:

Name Night Elf for Winterwolt. Sacrifice Seraph to trigger Tyrande, make a Wisp(which is now a Night Elf as well), sac to Ritual and continue.

Can anyone say Hulk Flash ?
