It's not new, been around for a few days, apparently just some WiFi optimisation.

When you all insert the sim card into the slots of ZF5, will u hear a click? Because the sim card doesnt seem to go all the way into the slot and pushed back by the spring inside. Is this normal?

I am also UMobile user, have been facing this problem for months. So far, I have gathered 2 solutions which works for me so far (is also to share with other umobile users):

1. If UMobile is at SIM1, go to Settings > More... > Mobile Networks > Network Mode > Enable "Use only 2G networks"

1st step: Your mobile internet will only be capped at Edge, you will be able to make or receive phone calls.

2. Go to Settings > More... > Mobile Networks > Data Roaming > Enable "Data Roaming"

2nd step: Your mobile internet will still be able to achieve H+, while able to make or receive phone calls.

Hope this could temporarily help you to solve your problem, until latest firmware is released. I have reported to Asus Malaysia, so far they have not come back with any helpful solution.. hope you can raise this issue to Asus Malaysia, so they can take this problem seriously!

ur using self potong micro sim izzit? the instruction book did mention that self cut sim will not work properly...

Yea i'm using self-potong sim Managed to use it for call, data etc last night but have to push it in far enough until a "click" is felt. Tried with a original micro sim and it also required the same strength and depth to secure the sim card in the slot.

imo both of 2GB RAM sets are overpriced...

Bought the last unit of ZF5 (Black) at Thunder Match Midvalley Currently, that outlet is out of stock. Salesperson referred other customers to Lowyat outlet.

Overheard salesperson saying that ZF6 will only reach in July. They're upgrading the ROM from 8GB to 16GB. Asus outlet also confirmed this.

Everybody these days trying to make a quick buck everywhere! Even when I bought my ZF4 at Digital Mall, the first shop I asked told me selling at RM350 due to low stock... KNS. I skipped and off to 2nd shop and usual RM299. More like it!

ZF4 users - anybody using any casing yet? I'm looking for those rubber type case not the flip type

i asked expressfon about their zf5's pricing and here are the prices (copied from email) :

Model A500CG RM799 Hitam. Putih/Merah RM819, Gold RM849
Model A501CG RM499 Putih. Hitam RM519, Merah/Gold RM539

A500CG is the high spec zf5 2.0GHz Processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB Internal Memory

A501CG is the low spec zf5 1.6 GHz Processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB Internal Memory if i'm not mistaken
