Actually colour doesn't play any major role in determining a good diamond. It is more of personal taste. Some like it abit warm, some like it abit white.

As for clarity, VS1/2 can give peace of mind and is more budget friendly. But sometimes SI1 can be pretty decent and eye-clean probably even when viewed at close range. If that is the case, it will have the best value. You are fairly safe if you buy VS1/2 clarity diamonds even without looking at the actual diamond (not encouraged though). VS2 may cause problem but it is very rare. As for SI1, it will be best to view the actual diamond image, the location of the inclusions, and the type of inclusions. Usually I tend to avoid diamond that has feather inclusion near the edge of the diamond, even for a VS2, but that is just personal preference. However, if the diamond has great light return and great hearts and arrows, then I will consider it too.

Pavilion angle should be 40.6 to 40.9. Pavilion depth is <= 43.5%.

If the proportions are ideal, you can lower your colour grade to G. Cuz you can hardly see the diamond's colour with flashes of light coming at you all at once.

Bigger is always better for the receiver. But trust me bro, this isn't always the case. Let's say you maximise carat weight and got a 1.02 H SI2 Ex VG VG, while one of your friends got a 0.77 E VS1 3Ex. On paper, your 1.02 would appear much bigger than your friend's, and you will instantly have the bragging rights cuz of the magic 1-ct number. But when the two ladies compare their diamond's bling factor, I can tell you that your wife's face will not be blinging after that!

Yup, Wah Chan has the best diamond deals. Their salesperson also friendlier. I learnt a lot speaking to one of their lady salesperson there.

I went to quite a few shops in Midvalley too when I was starting my diamond hunt. Among them, Goldheart has the worst customer service. They macam reluctant to serve me when I said "I am currently surveying for the right deal."

I think yes, they are the only one that sells 10 hearts and arrows. It rmb I was excited when I first saw it  But I rmb that what I saw at their shelf did not impress me. Anyway, at the end of the day, extra hearts and extra arrows are just gimmick to me. It should be pretty nice if they can cut to that standard, but they have to back their claim with images. And I am pretty sure they won't do so. And double the price is just plain ridiculous.
