QUOTE(Sentinel92 @ May 15 2014, 03:06 AM) You mean the Core i5-4670? Well, simple. Most if the rigs here requested are for gaming. So resources are mostly allocated towards a powerful GPU, with the occasional SSD. Why? Having a Core i7-4770K or a Core i5-4440 as a processor has very minimal impact to your gaming capabilities. Unless your specifically requested high cpu demand power computing rigs, then we a're more likely to give a Core i5-4440/Gigabyte 290 combo than a 4770K/GTX760 Setup. I like your answer! Thank you! Now I am one step closerHere's an example. ![]() So whether you even have an old 2500K, doesn't matter. Gaming has little bearing on how your gaming performance is going to be, at most 3-5fps tops. See where the crazy expensive 3960X is? It's not at the top. |

QUOTE(Sentinel92 @ May 15 2014, 03:23 PM) Lol you're welcome. One step closer to? Building a new rig? I hope that frees up more funds for your GPU rather than getting a high end CPU. Haha. yeah building a rig...i dont wanna ask the same question like the others...RM2.5-3k etc, better go through the forum. I understand there's a difference between open GL and Direct X, I am aiming for gaming and photoshop most of the time, sometimes AutoCAD. any suggestions? I am looking for RM500 - RM1000 depending on range and reliability (of course, with i5 4440 that can cope with it). RAM just use normal value for money RAM? Why not those ultimate blah blah? Mobo, another headache, things like Asrock B85M-Pro4 does not come with Wifi support...anything with it? |

QUOTE(Zgames @ May 15 2014, 04:51 PM) So....how much budget for le rig? 1k? It's not "possible" to cope i5 with 1k budget. Huehuehue. Yes RAM just use Value RAM. Performance RAM has like...very very minimal increase in FPS... Unless you wanted bling bling. Built in wifi? Just get Wifi Card. sorry i didnt specify properlyrig est RM2.5-3k graphic card at RM500-1k (inclusive of rig with i5) wifi card cheap cheap? same same but different? |

QUOTE(rav3n82 @ May 19 2014, 04:03 PM) The best-bang-for-buck GTX 760 would be Gainward GTX 760 Phantom, around RM845 from Garage Sales. But I heard that it recently ran out of stock, you might need to recheck for availability. your advice is always good =)For a nicely balanced 760 with excellent cooler, I would recommend MSI GTX 760 Gaming. The cooling solution on it surpasses every other brand basically, other than just Asus, and maybe Gigabyte. And it isn't exactly very expensive also, around RM979. Zotac is also good, bearing one of the highest factory overclock on any 760s in the market. And it is priced around RM880 with an up to 5 years warranty. someone quoted me gainward GTX, but i was looking at MSI as well. should i even consider 4gb with a 1k budget for GPU? |

QUOTE(rav3n82 @ May 19 2014, 04:55 PM) Glad it is of use to you. okies then im closer to building some low end rig liao!My advise is always this, for gaming at 1080p and below, just go with 2GB. All those mid-high end end cards (e.g GTX 760 / 770) with 4GB VRAM is not going to cut it. You will run out of GPU processing power long before you face VRAM shortage. thanks a lot! |

QUOTE(Sentinel92 @ May 23 2014, 04:48 PM) I would suggest feiton but their store is near kepong.haha. doesnt matter kepong or pandah indah, cos i know there's cheap food there hahaAll the IT stores in Lowyat are fine. You can always let them know what components you want, and then compare prices. im from usj so kinda far for everything. what matter to me is service and price! |
