Hi guys..I would like to build a new rig with these specs

Intel i5-4460
Asrock H81M-HDM
Gskill Aegis 2x4gb ddr3 1600
WD 1TB Blue
Thermaltake Versa H21
FSP Hexa 550W
LG 24x sata dvdrw
Gainward GTX750TI Golden Sample 2GB

My doubt is about the motherboard. .. should I get the asrock b85m hds instead? The b85 is about RM50 more expensive...

Got any difference between this 2? Which motherboard should I choose? Any help is appreciated. ..thx ^.^

Only difference is more USB port and more SATA ports, also special features or something similar.

Thanks for the reply ;-)

What is SATA port for? I'm only using 1 hdd and 1 graphic card (no intention of upgrading or adding any hdd) so will the extra SATA benefit me? Also I noticed b85 has pci3 compared to h81 which has pci2 ...whats the difference? will it affect my performance?

depend if you plan to do any upgrade in future I would say.

The major downside for h81 probably is less ram slots and pcie2.0. Going b85 hds improved on pcie2.0 but still two ram slots. Higher end b85 all have 4slots ram.

As for pcie2.0 vs 3.0, I will say it depend on whether you plan to upgrade your gpu in future. 2.0 having less bandwidth, but it isn't really a big/significant concern for low/mid end cards. Only if you plan to upgrade to some monster cards in future, then the 2.0 vs 3.0 might has a more significant effects.

Ok.. so I guess pci2.0 won't have much effect on GTX750TI? Thanks for the info :-D
