Why do you need 4.2GHz for 24/7 for ?  Yes it can, but you definitely need a powerful AIO to keep it frosty.

I suggest you build your rig around the Intel Core i7-4930K. OC like hell with six cores to play with, if you need CPU power that much.

An ITX build is more feasible in his case. icon_idea.gif

Although he needs to sacrifice the features of an ATX board.

Depending on the intensity of your graphic works ( games, design etc. ), you will need two high end graphic cards.

Go for 2GB versions if you can. High resolution or low resolution, the GPU architecture is what hits the limit here and won't be fast enough to sustain playable framerates on those resolutions in the first place. Having more memory is not going to alleviate that at all. This is a marketing gimmick aimed at those less informed or have preconceived notions that more memory is always better.

Personally, I have tested the Asus DCUII and it indeed has one of the best cooling solutions found on a GTX 760. Only MSI's Gaming version is able to compete with it, in terms of quietness and low temps.

However, do note that the Asus card only has a base clock speed of 1006 MHz, while Leadtek has 1111 MHz. The Leadtek card does run significantly faster out of box. wink.gif

And cheaper as well. icon_idea.gif

There's still a room for 2TB HDD, just in case TS needs a lot of capacity to store his work. You can also go modular with RM60 more.

Other than that, good build.

Ahh I see, ok then the GPU part is sorted

About the ODD, I've checked and found externals are at about rm50 more than an internal one, I can live with that I suppose.

Besides the Phenom, I've come across the CM elite 130 as well but looks like it doesn't ventilate that well?

haha, i dont want to downgrade my monitor tbh ever since i watch linus..

i think i can't go for the 780ti  sad.gif

how about this build :
CPU: Intel Core I5 4670K
MOBO: ASrock Z87 Extreme 4
RAM: GSkill RipjawsX 2x4GB DDR3 2400mhz
HDD: WD 1TB Caviar Blue HDD
SSD: Plextor M5S 128GB SSD
GPU: Sapphire R9 290 TriX 4GB DDR5
LCD: Dell 24" U2414H
Chasis: NZXT Switch 810 Gunmetal
PSU: Seasonic X650 PSU

Total RM5514 + freebies quoted from idealtech
*
- You won't get any performance improvement in gaming with performance RAM. Corsair 8GB Value RAM would be good enough.
- That PSU is kind of expensive. Cheaper alternatives such as Seasonic M12II 620w is just good enough.
- Dell P2312H is also a good alternative with cheaper price.

Dude, that's base on USD, also. These speed has so little next to none increase in performance cause it's just like 1 GHz above each other.

For a 3k build

Here's my suggestion.

Proc - Xeon 1230 V3 RM 799
Mobo - Asrock B85 Killer RM 299
HDD - 1TB WD Blue RM 189
RAM - 8 GB Value RAM RM 244
PSU - Antec VP 550w RM 199
GPU - Gainward GTX 760 RM 799
Casing - Bitfenix Shadow RM 229
Custom Cooler - Scythe Ashura RM 179

Prices costed RM 2,937.
*
Can settle down on CM Hyper TX3 Evo and use the RM100 for Phantom.

The other CPU is for my friend.
Hmmm.... maybe you are right. I should start learning OC.
But OC will have to consider the room temperature as well?
Bcoz my room is hot. Need to consider liquid cooling?
*
Not really. You just need to consider a good cooling system. But, it doesn't necessarily have to be a liquid cooling. Heatsink would do a good job as well.

Here's the performance of Phanteks CPU cooler.

In US,yes,the price for FX8320 is in between i3 and i5.But here,different. tongue.gif

Also, you need a motherboard with 8+2 VRMs..for example the Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3.Normally AM3+ Motherboards that has 8+2 VRMs..the prices starts from RM469 AFAIK..but with Intel CPU for example the i5 4460,you don't need a motherboard that have at least 8+2 VRMs..and the motherboards' prices are cheaper.
If you use a AM3+ motherboard e.g. 4+1 VRMs..it'll throttle the CPU. nod.gif http://www.overclock.net/t/946407/amd-moth...m-info-database

Go for an Intel build.

CPU:Intel Core i5 4460 3.2GHz RM599
Mobo:Asrock H97-Pro4 RM329
GPU:Gainward GTX770 Phantom 2GB GDDR5 RM1170
Ram:Corsair Value Ram 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RM244
HDD:WD Caviar Blue 1TB RM174
PSU:Seasonic S12II 80+ Bronze 620W  RM299
Casing:CM K380 Rm149
ODD:Liteon 24x DVDRW RM59
Total:RM3023
CPU and Mobo are from Lingloong@GS,GPU is from GBros@GS,the rest are from Viewnet@LYP.

As for monitor, including the budget for the rig,or separate?
Viewsonic VX2770SMH 27" RM949(from Viewnet@LYP)

Why do you want a 27" monitor?
*
Still cheaper than i7 though.
