I still no pro in this. But i can share what I did loh.

HI...which pet shop did you see it.....because I think the Adult SG behaviour will have very much effect on the environment they are at now....

I saw the ones in MidValley...felt really bad for all of them..they have like 5-6 of them..the people dont' know how to take care...leave a big bulb light on .....to SG..they hate light...

I really wanted to buy all of them and adopt them..but no money loh..I felt very sad to see how badly the pet shop owners take care of them....They give nice place for the birds and stuff...but the SG...one corner...not well taken care off..

Anyway, my advice is...be very very patient like what suiteng had been telling me...start of with 1 SG first .... i wanted to get a pair but worried that might be too hard to handle....

Adult SG is definitely much harder to tame....it takes time for them to get use with the new environment....firstly....when you got your SG...make sure you have big enough cage for him to wonder around...try to touch his leg and tail whenever you can...put in your smelly t-shirt or you can start off with the coconut shell...let him get use with it for 1-2 days....

As for the food, as Adult SG might already have their preference on food...so try various of fruits to see which one he likes.....as for me... my Gollum loves apple, pink guava and worm.

Do let me know once you got it....ask any question...a lot of SG sifu here are very helpful here....from my experience...

I think the majority one that we see are brown....hehhe...i have not seen a grey one live yet...except from the pictures here loh...looks so canggih..the grey and black ....how i wish i have gotten a joey....arghghhg...but of course...i still love my Gollum....

I am so scared for it to jump off...ahaha..

So happy. Yesterday night..after work....brought him out like always..put on my tummy...fed up worms...like always...poo poo on my shirt...ahhaha...

Anyway....he was a bit more daring this time...althought i can still feel he is trumbling....he climb up my leg......i try to tahan loh..his nail so long....like tickling me only...hahahha...

then after that..when he got on top of it...he try to jump...i quickly hold on him and put him back on to my smelly t-shirt.....

but after that...whenever i put him back to the cage..he will be acting very weird...stay on the stick..and look down...there's nothing underneath ?? ..but he would hold that position for like whole night.....weird....but i know he is scared...very scared..so don't dare to kacau him liao...crab a bit also when i try to grab him again...

hopefully soon he will get use with me...

Mine hardly drink water....my little gollum very scared still...

He will only go drink water the water trey after i switch off all the lights......hehehe...

i put the drips drinking bottle...don't know how to teach him to drink there...

3rd week with Gollum ...

Here's my update of my Adult Male SG Gollum on my 3rd week with him.

He is still very shy to come close to me when he is wide awake at night - around 11pm. I try a couple of times to lure with out of the cage but he will sendiri jump back to the cage.

Last night was the first time I saw him drinking water from the bottle. Trust me, it took me a couple of tries to get him to learn to drink from the bottle. I was so happy. For those who are concern whether he drinks water or not. My Gollum usually will drink water once he wakes up at night......must be very very thirsty after sleeping the whole day.....

Anyway, after following the advices from fellow LYN SG friends here. I have been spending at least 1 hour a day hugging him usually when he is asleep before i go to work..he would eat about 5-6 worms....then i leave him back to the cage...when i get back home from work at night..i will try to take him out again..(he would be half awake)...but still very sleepy....and hug him for another 1 hour and feed him with worms....then i will leave him to sleep in the cage as I need to do housework and stuff....

Then by around 11pm he would wake up and start looking for makan liao....I would usually leave some fruits and koa chi in the tray for him to eat while i am sleeping at night..

Sometimes if i were to take him out and have him go wonder around me...he would get very scared and look for his cage to go back...if it is his first meal of the night...after he have 2-3 worms..he would poo poo liao...so be prepared to clean yourself up after that....

I manage to find a small little bag (girl's bag) that might be able to use as a carry bag for my SG..it has 2 layers of cloth...is it okay? I try to breath through it...it seems okay...can my SG breath through if I can breath through?

Another advice I need is about the nails, his nails is getting very long and I don't know whether is it okay to cut his nails or not? can anyone advice is it okay i use those nail clippers (for human) to cut...when is the best time? when he is sleeping or at night?

As i find i can handle him better when in the day than night time....his nails are so long..everytime he climb on my leg...i get red dots everywhere from his sharp nails...

Carosonel: totally understand your situation, SG do need a lot of attention especially the joeys....i am not too sure about the adults...but to be frank...i try to spend as much time with my adult gliders about 1-2 hours on working day and 3-4 hours on weekends...if you think you could spare the same hours i spend with adult gliders..i think should be okay if you get an adult SG....

No more liao....he is okay with me grabbing him out....unless if i hurt him..then only crab ...

Thanks Heidi and Suiteng for the advice...will do that tomorrow instead lah...today I am taking him to work with me in my new found pouch...check it out....did a bit of custom work on it ....hehehe...

Bought the small bag at a female bag shop...cost at RM16.70.....got various color and design...

It has 3 layers....2 layer of cloth and 1 layer of sponge..I have the sponge remove and also added a net cloth on the top of the bag.. cut a small hole and have it stitch up so that no strings lari....my handicraft work no good...but that's the best i can do lah.....

Suiteng: I slowly took out the smelly blanket before I transfer him to the bag...he was very curious about the bag....new place....then he just went in himself...without any worries....

Yeah...this forum had been very helpful in understanding my SG. Yeah loh..my SG peepee and poo poo so much on my smelly t-shirt that i have to let go 2 t-shirt to rotate...hahah.....

The bonding process so far okay...he doesn't crab so much liao....i took him out a few times...but he very fast want to jump back to the cage...ahhaha...

Yeah loh...his nails always get stuck on the cloth...no matter what cloth...tomorrow when he is sleeping like a pig...i will curi curi cut his nails..hehehe...i got those nail cutter thing...can use that ah...

Jealous...

Everytime i take my SG out from the cage...carry him...if he is wide awake and energetic...he would try to look out for his cage...and sendiri climb back there....

4th week (one month liao) with my Gollum

I am so happy that my progress with my SG is doing great...He is just so cute everytime I look at him. After I got my little pouch, I have been taking him out alternate days. Took him to my office, to car workshop, to mamak, drive around in the car with me...etc...

I always make sure I have a small container full of fruits....not apple..(cannot last)....like grapes, pink guava.....

It has been great..and he loves the worms that I had been feeding him as a meal...I am thinking to breed worms myself ....anyone know how???

And the best thing about my Gollum..he is not so crabby now....very gentle when he is on my arm...and he is also bond with my husband...so either him or me can carry around...

He is still very shy to be out from the bag unless in a dark environment....but he is such a baby....needs to be handfeed....unless he is too hungry..then only look for the food tray...hahaha...

His diet now is worms (about 15 small worms a night), apple (twice a week), pink guava (twice a week), red grapes (twice a week), mini mandarin orange .... is it okay for an adult SG?

My husband had been complaining about his smell that he leaves in the cage....he was thinking to use cat litter sand as the bottom..(not as bedding)....is it okay? As i remember someone was talking about don't use the sand....please advice how to get rid of the smell...

Heidi: I decided to bring my glider along to go back to my hometown for CNY..hahah...this is going to be interesting......as I will be travelling to 3 different states....hopefully it won't stress him up too much...will bring along his cage...

Oh..you mean Male Glider more smelly...hahhaa...gotta tell my hubby about it...ahahha....actually i can tahan his smell only my husband cannot tahan....guess male can't smell themselves well....

Oh my....i didn't know....okay okay..will try loh...as my Gollum loves it so much..he will take up to around 10-15 a day...i only stop when he stop taking it from my hand...ahhaha....

Insects...ehh..crickets...don't know how to keep...any other things i can give...

Will have to start shopping for fruits later today..ehehhe....Thanks for the advice...

i am worried..as it is balding...and it is a bit wet...

Is it bald totally??..like bald to the skin...and it has some dark brown clog..and slightly wet...I will try take picture later today....

Can anyone suggest where I can get the calcium supplement from? What human yogurt that i can buy to feed him. I think my SG is lack of calcium....

Added on February 7, 2007, 2:12 pmLast night i gave less worms...he is like tak cukup like that...so i cut more vege and fruits for him - cucumber, pink guave & apple....he makan the pink guave & apple...the cucumber don't like.....

Anymore things you guys can suggest what to feed my SG.....i ran out of ideas what to feed...

last night, i went out with my girlfriends...told my husband to jaga gollum...he was telling me gollum now slightly daring...he was feeding him and luring him out of the cage...then when he got on his arm...usually Gollum would quickly go back to the cage..but this time..he stayed on his arm....he had to push him back to the cage only Gollum would go back....hahaha.....i was so happy to hear that he is slowly bonding with us.... .....

today i bring him to work.....next to my laptop now....
