I haven't personally listened to the promedia 2.1 but from what I have heard from people, apparently its better than the one from GMX series.I won't be surprised if its true, too bad it is discontinued...
*
ya.. too bad...
but now they come out a new product call klipsch iFi, 19KG leh! the old promedia 2.1 just 9KG. usually speaker more heavy more good(but not apply to all case), dunno how this new product do..

hey thread starter, if u really like speaker that can shake ur whole house then i recommend u buy this: http://www.sony.com.my/sonystyle/product/p...ubcategoryid=63

look, it got two build in subwoofer, normal pc 2.1 speaker just one subwoofer. currently i am using sony 7500watt mini hifi with two build in 20cm subwoofer. when i open volumn until half only, i receive complain frm my neighbour frm up stair, they told me their floor is shaking and i can feel my whole house door and wall are shaking. this is real hifi deep bass which is none of a computer speaker can deliver, nor even those RM1000++ logitech speaker(normally ppl praise logitech speaker bass powerfull). i never heard ppl praise GMX 2.1, mostly what i heard is the bass is boomy and bloat which is not true bass, its bass can loud but sound not nice. a real nice bass is tight and clear yet u can feel ur heart is follow it jumping.

Hey Deepfritz, I would assume that your Sony mini hifi is rated at 7500W PMPO and not RMS right? There's no way a mini hifi can generate that amount of power. PMPO is only a marketing gimmick.
*
oh.. ya... hehe
the RMS is: (235watt x 2)front speaker + (70watt x 3)center & rear speaker

rclxm9.gif  drool.gif  Hell yeah, it's way damn cool Hi-Fi from Sony... It's woofer is damn large (18")!!!  notworthy.gif  I know it's way powerful but what i wan't is juz a 2.1 PC Speaker, sorry!!! tongue.gif Hehe...  biggrin.gif  Don't worry, i know 'bout basses, so now i've been trying out brands that are rather not expensive such as Klipsch but still sound damn nice... (That's why i didn't plan on speakers such as Logitechs, Altecs, Creatives and etc.) But i was amazed and curious about the way my friend and my friend's cousin described their Klipsch...  whistling.gif  But thanx deepfritz7!!!  thumbup.gif

P/S : I'll keep an eye on that Sony Hi-Fi BTW...  rclxms.gif  biggrin.gif

myself is using another speaker ==> edifier M3300. this is a very best buy speaker too.. sometimes i found that use this speaker listen to jazz, soft music seems like more nice than my hifi.
