just got invitation for an interview as Process & Operation engineer. anyone know what question might been ask during the iv? i didnt hav any related experience about this post..

hi there. fortunately i went to the interview about a month ago. there's nothing specific questions based on my experience.

1st activity is group activity, there will be 3 assessors for each group. you will be given sticks, cardboard, sellotape and mineral water bottle. use them to build a rig (minimum height of the rig will be given, i cant remember. each of the equipment has its own relative value) 1 hour will be given to complete the task.
tips here is to build a safe rig without compromising the HSE issues regardless the cost.
please appoint a leader and show teamwork qualities.

2nd activity is each one of you need present the rig that you've built to the 3 assessors. i cant remember what exactly i presented coz i didnt sleep the day before, i mumbled a lot (please dont do this, just point out something related to the rig you've built like HSE issues i mentioned earlier).

3rd activity is role play.
you will be given random role by the assessor to play the role of certain situation.
for instance, government vs environmentalist vs tourist agency vs tourist regarding environment issues.
i just use logic and current issues related for this activity. maybe you'll get other topics.
in this activity they wanna see how you interact with other people (accepting/reject their opinion, provide other solutions, defend your statements and  you know what's coming) and the assessors will ask questions about the issues at the end of the role play, be prepared and think wisely before you answer.

and the last one is individual interview.
basic interview questions, 1) introduce yourself, 2) your weakness & strengths, 3) past experiences 4) why we should hire you, 5) where did you hear about this program, 6) workplace situation questions.
depend on the interviewer, they might ask random questions such as whats the current oil price, conversion unit etc
it would be nice if you can relate the questions they throw at you with issues that happened in O&G industry such as tilted platform, BOP etc.

I am looking for ong vacancy. Now I am doing water & waste treatment for industry and municipal-2 years experience - Project, business dev. Others, I been working as kuli macai in non related profession for few years.

I have been trying to get into this industry for quite a while. No invitation for interview whatsoever.

Now I am more focus than ever to get into this industry since my good friend left for petrofac - his first step into this industry after few years of working. He also doing master in UTP - jalan semarak.

Need some advice from u guys. i just got invitation from Halliburton for a test session. What is this test session all about? is it calculation? is it case study? is it IQ test? is it english test? any advice what do i need to prepare? btw it is for Entry Level Maintenance Engineer – Logging & Perforating position.

just wondering if ppl here know, lets say you apply for a prospective position via discoverpteronas, how long does it take petronas to get back to you ? I hear it takes a year !?!"!??

they just emailed me this afternoon. the test is on friday, this position is 4 kemaman base... they asked me to go to their office at KL to take that exam.. uhuhu

Thanks for the reply bro. Coz currently I'm working as operation engineer for one of local contractor and earn quite good money for a fresh engineer. But i jz sent my resign letter to join operator as graduate project engineer. Hoping this is a wise move for me. I always dreamed to earn 5 figures income (base salary) before 30 years old, and i work very hard for it.
