as the Qs in Construction field then yes lol , i not clear about role and working of QS in OnG, that why i am
surveying about the working and paying of QS in ONG~
*
well tbh you do have a chance of working on the field either on or offshore, but from my exp i only met one guy who does that la

you'll mostly be working with engineers on the field if you are assigned to

and as for you wanting to earn big bucks, it all depends on how you handle your job as well as a bit of luck...whatever industry you are working in only comes seondary and there is no guarantees

just to add, you wont be surprised if you find companies offering you position as project/contract engineers...i rmb seeing similar post on jobstreet...do more of your own google searching if you are really interested

reality is cruel ma bro haha~ btw salary for QS in OnG attractive too?
coz enroll in Construction and OnG industry both of them got pro and cons haha
*
haiyo...attractive or not it's very subjective la...like you said got pros and cons, you think high pay comes without any extra risk is it?

focus on your studies first, graduate then you shall see and decide for yourself how you want to start your career

Dayang in miri seems to be a pretty good workplace. Have a friend doing intern there and enjoying the working experience.
But am not sure what services they would provide that is suitable for a fresh university grad,,
These days university grads don't make it out in the field,, they would just quit and prefer to sit in a comfy office in KL.
I have had trainees who keeps complaining, and not able to accept the shit, just give up. Hopeless....
My advice is if u cannot roll your sleeves and get hands on and work for a tough demanding environment, don't waste your time and
come in complaining how you are overqualified to do the things people in the oilfield needs to do.
*
i agree with u to a certain extent...i do however notice that there are still many fresh grads eager to do field jobs, because they want the extra $$

as for dayang, well from my friends' POV it's quite dull because all he do is prepare work pack and write reports...he team leads as well just to get the work permits etc...and as my other group of friends in the hse department, very relax...but of coz when incidents happen they need to write bunch of reports to the client and attend many meetings...

hi guys, i attended KNM interview and got a job offer. unfortunately, my impression on the company is a little below expectation. the company seems to be lacking of consultant manpower, but yet in the interview, the main interviewer keep conveying a message that fresh graduate must feel very lucky when OnG is their first career. some skeptical reaction from the interviewer i would say.

the HR is pretty exploitative. trying to set my salary at the lowest and minimize all the benefits, as if fresh graduate does not deserve anything much.

i know its common for fresh graduate, we should start from low and don't emphasize on money as we have no negotiation power. however of all interviews, this is a bit different for me. the interviewer keep emphasizing on my benefits instead of really telling me what will be my job scope.

any insight from current or ex employee of KNM?
