Get rid of Young and get this player. Should not cost a bomb and physically looks ready for EPL already. Example, is KP Boateng as one of his "victims" biggrin.gif

From an article I read, it seems he has the right attitude to make it (or at least try very hard) to be top player in the future.

An excerpt from the said article:
"Apart from the obvious potential, he has shown in an incredible eagerness to improve. In an interview with Voetbal International, he admitted that learning from the likes of Van Gaal, Robben and Van Persie was very inspirational and despite his ditto season, he wasn’t half satisfied with his own performance. ‘A player like me should score 30 goals a season,’ he told the Dutch magazine. He has likened himself to Cristiano Ronaldo too, insisting that he did everything to remain in shape. ‘I used to do 200 abdominal exercises every day to keep myself fit last season, and this season I still work out almost every day before training".

Full article here: Oranje

With Young playing like an amateur, Zaha with supposedly attitude problem and Nani lacking confidence, inexpensive potential like Memphis should be bought

and pair with Janujaz. drool.gif

Plus, the name alone should be the reason to buy him ph34r.gif

Well he started as a winger, then converted into LB. No need to convert again. tongue.gif

200 millions budget? How would anyone know what kind of budget United have? From the journalists? rolleyes.gif

Ed Woodward should learn something from Chelsea's selling off Luiz for 50 millions. That's a LOT! For a defender who can't defend. laugh.gif

I mean, these kind of things are nothing new. It happened during SAF time, just that no twitter/social media to feck people's mind up. biggrin.gif The tabloids are throwing everything at the wall, hoping one might stick. At least when something happened, or didn't happen, they could gloat and say "I TOLD YOU SO" first.

All journalists/"agents" are just guessing now. Which is good actually tongue.gif Nobody really knows until the deals are done.

I would just see it as way of playing chess, so to speak. Let the rivals buy the so called decoys and then make the big moves later. tongue.gif Yes, I am dreaming ph34r.gif

Just to be optimistic, hope LvG would be formally introduced to the media as United manager with a couple of new signings. I would actually like to see how LvG

would work with current crop of players. Maybe there would be one or two departures, but don't think it would be too many changes. Marquee signings can wait

when United become the champion again. tongue.gif laugh.gif

I guess just have to wait what kind of formation and system LvG will employ, and see current players are good enough for it or not. I predict if anything it will be after season already started or earliest would be when he officially starts. With him giving his first presser and the new signing(s). brows.gif

If LvG has his own system where a "playmaker" would be in DM position rather than a "tackler/destroyer", then either Carrick or Fab would be good enough. It just would have to be that one "box-to-box" would have to be partnered with Carrick, which used to be Fletcher. Just hope after a good summer break and pre-season, he would come back stronger. If not, the academy players should be an option. Either way, I am hoping LvG could bridge the gap in CM area, and given there are not a lot of viable options out there, maybe it could be another summer without new CM. Either they are too expensive, or "rejects".

A massive coup by Barca. United should have gone with this type of player instead of having a wild goose chase:

http://www.football365.com/news/21554/9345...akitic-to-Barca

Similar type to Fabregas I think. So cheap too. No wonder Fabregas rumours are gathering pace. To think that, the Barca players tapped Fabregas so much, they would end up pushing him away just few seasons later.

I guess it has to do with business, in terms of balancing the book. Depending on how much Chelsea is paying Barca for Fab, with them selling Luiz and Mata, and buying Matic and Fab, they are trying to reduce the debts but at the same time strengthening the squad? I don't know. sleep.gif

Just hope with teams like Chelsea already finalising their transfers (mostly), this would increase United's chance of signing other big names. brows.gif We can only hope eh?

Some of the comments are just too much biggrin.gif Transfer window has not officially opened yet, let alone closed. So the total negative (some unwarranted) comments are at least one month too early. I would call for sacking of Woodward as well, if there is no positive signings after LvG after 11.59PM on 31st August 2014. tongue.gif

I am still hoping players like Fellaini would find his form in this WC, and if needed, he could attract potential suitors. If anything United need more a player of Vidal-mould really. At least that would be my choice. Midfield hard man, or mobile physical presence. If Fellaini performs, maybe the major investment would not be needed.

Tactic was spot on, but I wouldn't get carried away by signing all the Dutch players now. biggrin.gif If anything, I would rather see how LvG could work with current "deadwoods". brows.gif I mean, he transformed Swine Tiger from a winger to a pretty good CM. ph34r.gif

Plus, Casillas of all people had a howler. Terrible game by his standard. No wonder he was dropped for a while for RM. Time for Agent DDG to step up? brows.gif
