Hey everyone, Im back with more music for you. This time its a cover of Time Is Running Out by Muse I did with a friend. We have the original song as foundation and took the cover in a different, much heavier direction. I see it kind of as "when alt rock meets heavy metal".

I did the instrumental arrangements for this one, my friend did the vocals.

I wrote 2 guitar solos for this, one of them is fairly shreddy, and tried to explore a bit into alt-rock leads here.

Have a listen and let me know what you think!

Let me know what you think! If you dig the solo project you will probably enjoy this one as well.

oh a cover, i thought a song in the style of muse, but the voice styling is very... different? raw and uncontrolled in a sense if i have to put it in a way.
loving the bass lines.

When we were working on this we took the cover in our direction, me in the instrumental section (solos, heavier rhythms and stuff) and him in the vocal section. Ive been jamming with Vadim for quite some time and I really dig his vocal style.

it's not a bad thing, having such a raw voice will pertain to certain audience, albeit you choose a proper song for that, kinda reminds me of earlier a7x maybe you could try cover unholy confessions, the guitars in that is awesome and probably will make use of the raw vocals in a better way.

Forgot when was the last time I really learned to play someone elses song, let alone a solo lol
Next project will probably be another maisntream rock song that we will take in our direction, maybe some originals after that.

I think the the playing is good and also the instrumental arrangements. But as for the vocal, that needs some work to be done. It surely needs some improvement. I noticed that it is not consistent, some part are loud then soft, as if the singer moved a couple of steps back away from the mic.

These may seem like a minor thing but if you wanna record a cover, make sure everything is good. The vocal should be as important as the way the instruments are being played. Otherwise, it would definitely affect the song as a whole. But, I will not deny the fact that the vocalist do have a good voice. Practice more and make sure the 'form' is right. Good luck and cheers!
