QUOTE(jerm @ Jun 5 2014, 01:22 PM) benny888, how's Carbon rom after these few days using? Fine. If you want Sony stuffs another very good rom is Monx ( he is a fellow Msian chap). His rom comes w xposed installer for your further tweaksi'm finding that i kinda miss the Sony styling (running GPe now) and may want to switch sometime in the future also, what's a good screen protector (front/back) that is available? mine is pretty banged up already Carbon is AOKP which is bit higher specs vs GPE n runs on Cyanogen kernel |

QUOTE(gwizardl @ Jun 5 2014, 11:22 PM) hi all, digi DG SmartPlan™ 148 now got free Z Ultra, worth to get it? Is only worth if you need to use up to 6gb of data each month...at end of 24 months you get a free phoneCurrently i am using plan 88, so need pay extra 60 for 24months, please advice http://new.digi.com.my/cs/Satellite/ecomm_..._xperia_z_ultra However 24 months is a long commitment n in the 24 months period you could see several new n better models available Lastly generally Digi LTE services is poorer vs Maxis n Celcom. Decision will be based on your data usage n places you frequently are at |

Rooting this phone is easy
Use flashtool n choose fastboot mode n just flash a CWM/kernel cum image file. It just take few seconds only. Than boot to recovery n flash supersu zip This post has been edited by benny888: Jun 7 2014, 06:14 PM |

Those with headphones problems should sent in for checking. My unit works with all the headphone sets I have . I don't think is firmware issue
There is no problem with official kitkat and all the custom roms I have tested This post has been edited by benny888: Jun 14 2014, 05:10 PM |

QUOTE(raymondtong94 @ Jun 17 2014, 01:02 PM) attempt to flash Monxdified ROM directly (which is a totally wrong way) to a GPe ROM. What do you mean wrong way ?now flashing back to stock FTF, then re-do everything as possible. You must select factory reset n the rom will flash fine over the GPE rom If you do not than it will keep rebooting I have tested this n eventually refresh by choosing factory reset |

QUOTE(raymondtong94 @ Jun 17 2014, 01:48 PM) GPe and stock ROM's boot.img is different. to run GPe, i need to flash the boot.img so i could able to boot GPe, before this. I never bother to flash boot.img even for the GPE rom n it turns out finei flashed directly and i tried clear dalvik cache and factory reset but i still ended up a bootloop. but now its ok, and i flashed Monxdified. You flash this boot.img only if your phone fail to install wifi settings This post has been edited by benny888: Jun 17 2014, 01:56 PM |

QUOTE(raymondtong94 @ Jun 17 2014, 05:00 PM) i cant boot GPe if i dont flash the boot.img provided. it will ended up bootlooping. Which GPE rom you flash ? Mine was by bigxie. He also stated flashing of boot.img but I never bothererr, i think you should try it? no one ever tried that, cuz its kind of hilarious. QUOTE(khairulanuar @ Jun 18 2014, 12:38 PM) Go n read up forum xda on flashtool. It is a program to flash firmware . You need to download the firmware file (ftf) first n copy it to the firmware subfolder of the flashtool folder ..you can download any Asian firmware to flashOr just Google flashtool for Sony phones http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z-ultra It has plenty of guides on this phone. Spend some time browsing it |

QUOTE(acbc @ Jun 19 2014, 09:53 AM) Bad luck. My C6806 GPE stuck at Google screen after updating to 4.4.3 yesterday. Anyone know how to reset back to factory via hardware buttons? I can go into Fastboot but none of the Sony tools will recognize it. I believe these tools are looking for Sony specific ROM IDs. Use flashtool to flash firmware since you can boot into fastboot mode. Connect the phone only after you have launch flashtool and you see prompt to connect phoneI have similar experience before |
