Waiting for my LG G Pro 2 to arrive this week as replacement

I can play 1080p movies through MHL but no idea how many hz that was. I bought a generic MHL adapter from ebay for it
Glass SP only help to protect your display n it largely depends on height n angle of drop. If you are lucky only the SP will break or in worst scenario both SP n display will break too

This XZU is reported to be Sony worst selling phone. It doesn't appeal to the masses due to its size. Rumors abound its replacement if there is, will be a 6 incher only
This phone is consider old already with a year already in market. It doesn't attract much buyers these days. What you see selling are basically old stocks

Most probably is the dock or your phone issue
I have used CM rom plus many other types of rom n had never faced such issues

If camera shots quality is important, just forget about this phone
It will give you decent satisfactory shots and definitely not excellent. Good for posting in FB and Instagram
Without flash , is even worse as in dark surroundings your shots will end up hopelessly poor

Sony original accessories are always expensive

Buy your AP set from reliable sellers. The hardware is same n only difference is warranty. My previous 2 sets were AP sets ( from Superbuy n DirectD). Both has no issues but I had sold them as changed to other phablets. Even if you buy original there is no guarantee it is good except you can be more comfortable with warranty issues. RM700 difference is a lot - who is the seller?? Make sure is not opened demo set!!

Custom Roms eg CM11 will however allows you to move many apps to Ext SDcard. Just go to settings/app sdcard tab n you will see list of app you can move over

If you have flashed before is easy. Just put the rom file into phone or ext sdcard first. Boot into custom recovery n just select the rom file n flashing will be over in a minute to two. You will need to select wipe data n cache before selecting the rom file
Of course you need to install custom recovery first follow by rooting than
There are plenty of guides how to do it at forum XDA or other sites. Do refer page 1 also

Just use flashtool n flash the 757 kernel n you will get custom recovery. Boot into recovery n select supersu zip n reboot - phone will be rooted

I only tested once only putting the XZU into water . I had never did it again due to numerous cases of failed flaps closure not tight enough. And Sony does not cover such warranty unless you can prove is the flaps fitting issue

Looks like your set has assembly problems. I suggest you claim warranty for it
My previous 3g n two of the LTE sets was a perfect fit

Huawei X1 has a much better quality display, phone speakers ( amazingly good )
Is only marginally bigger than XZU due to its narrower bezels
Antutu benchmarks loses much out to XZU. It doesn't bother me as I don't play games on my gadgets. Day to day use performance equally good if not better than XZU. Battery life is amazingly high to its 5000mAh battery - easily 10-11 hours SOT without any tweaks.
However it doesn't has XZU waterproof features

Sorry I never used any custom kernel on the phone. However tested several roms n eventually sticked back to stock rom.
Why even bother to undervolt as battery life I already consider excellent

No significant difference on my previous unit. I was using the cable which I took out from the original dock. From about 5% to full just slightly above 3 hours only
Fake magnetic cable ? Probably is poorer quality

This phone camera shots are just average quality only. Superior mode is often worse. You can easily try n judge it yourself.

New cards are at times defective too. Since is Sandisk you can easily claim a new unit as replacement ( Digital Vector or MCM as authorised distributors). If you don't have such stickers on the packaging, tough luck - try go back to seller to claim

XZU clearing stock - it is no longer in production. And Sony not interested to provide an upgrade to it
