Playing my new character(hoping to get Legendary Survivor title). This is the third time already(Previous attempt died at Indomitable Survivor). If can get to Legendary Survivor will buy GWEN smile.gif
*
Reading official wiki helps alot in getting Legendary Survivor title, especially identifying risky spots.

Official Guild Wars Wiki: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Main_Page

Other tips is self discipline, take advantage of double exp events, Korea dist to reduce lag, mouse movement in case on disconnection, priority on self preservation skills etc.

Forces the game to load a complete update.

Important: The program terminates after the update is completed; since Guild Wars will not be able run with this parameter on, make sure to remove it after all the content has been downloaded. Downloading all the content takes approximately 6 hours to complete at 150KB/s (broadband connection).

Recommended: Create an additional shortcut on your desktop to Guild Wars that is labeled "Guild Wars Updater" and has this command line switch.

Note: It's also possible to download all files simply by running the Guild Wars program and letting it "sit" on the login screen. You'll see a small lightning bolt near the bottom right corner that indicates downloading is in progress. (Though it will not decompress the files. This doesn't matter unless you want even faster first time loads).

You can jump to any "server" anytime at will, so it doesn't matter anymore, but Msian does get better ping when going to Korean side.

Oh, poor Alvirous. I thought you said you're finally going to buy one. Hmmm while waiting if someone has the trial key or saving up your money to buy one, why not try Dungeon Runners. It's a hilariously fun MMORPG created by the same company that created Guild Wars.
*
Not the same company, but a different studio under the same publisher, I gave most of my trial keys though, might still have, need to check if got, ill PM you.

You can start DL the GW client since the trial is time base rather than day base.

My Criteria
-varieties of jobs :]
-combination teams etc like Granado Espada which i was addicted to it like for the past 2 years. but i quitted this year cos server merged and my money dissappeared T.T Same as atlantica oso but lol i hate quests ._.
-Quests are less important in game :] like crappy cabal and maple ._.
-uber Shiny Skills :]
-and of course good graphics :]

Guild Wars suits me? ><
lol most important is just abt the quest stuff... i hate quests ._.
*
-10 professions if you have all the standalones, able to mixmatch 1 primary profession with 1 secondary profession for more possible combos.
-combination teams with AI you mean?, Nightfall and Eye of the North gives you the ability to customize heros(max 3).
-Main quests in GW are narrated via ingame cinematics(can be quite interesting) with some side quests in between, you progress the game in a storyline.
-Shiny skills? as in effects? GW does have spell effects, but they don't over do it like most Asian MMOs, but the effects are clear enough for competitive PvP.
-Good graphics? GW still looks quite shiny to this date especially in the later standalones and expansion.

ADD: I got 1 trail key, though I dunno if it can work or not, and 1 guy already PM me asking about the key.

I'll PM you when i got home, tho i'm not sure weather it is used or not, still worth a try, you can DL the client first and let the game DL itself while ingame menu.

One of the reasons GW didn't get very popular in Malaysia because typical MMO players here are too entrench with typical MMOs, they can't accept max level cap 20.

It has been 3-4 years now for GW, so most of the players have move on now, the local distributor for GW did held a competition for it in the 2nd year, happy to be part of it, when GW2 comes, high chances I will be there.

Hye there guys, i am planning to buy Guild Wars, i like the ablity to play solo in the game because if not have much time in grinding in mmo games. But i just curios how the latency of the game in Malaysia. I have a Jaring Flite Basic Wireless 384kbps connection. I have tried many F2P mmorpg such as Requiem, Rohan, Last Chaos and i always got this delay between attacking monsters and such.

Can u all share some of your experience with these games and maybe u can recommend some good mmorpg for me to start with. Thanks..

GW is a very solo friendly game, you are able to finish the game with Heros and Henchies(need to control them very well tho), if going to Korean districts, ping should be 100+ or less, but i don't think Jaring Flite Basic Wireless 384kbps connection can play game without much lag tho, wireless is not recommended for gaming and 384kbps seems too low(after bumps in between, dunno how much left), generally GW is smoother than other MMOs with servers in the US, compare to local MMO servers, i dunno since i don't play them.

A good experience indeed. Haha.
Say if I were to bank in cash to their account. How would you let them know what your buying?
*
Generally online transaction works like this:-
You create an account on their website,
once verified, you make an order on their website,
once purchase confirm, you make payment to their account,
you will need to fax/email them the bank in receipt and the transaction number(you get this when your purchase is confirm),
fax/email bank in receipt and transaction number helps them to verify your order easily and speed up the process.

Thanks mate.

So I will just need to get Nightfall then EoTN will do right? I'm trying the trial right now.

Added on July 4, 2009, 12:35 amAnother concern, we are playing on Euro based server, are you guys experiencing spike/lag?

As far as I'm concern playing on Euro based server would engage in lagness (e.g. WoW).

Anyone wants to defend that?
*
Nightfall then EoTN can do, or maybe you wanna get the trilogy + EoTN, it's cheaper in the long run since single standalone is getting uncommon/rare for brick and mortar stores.

You can change server at will ingame anytime anywhere, from experience Euro and Asia had less lag than US usually, if either Euro/Asia acted up and lag, I switch between them to get better ping.

US: constant 500-600ping tho still playable at best.
EU: 200-300ping, very good ping for us Malaysians.
Asia: 200-300ping, can get 100ping range sometimes, godsend for us.
