Im now waiting for Guild War 2.. wondering this year when will out.

gameplay is very different.

for GW1 you have 8 skills, all customizable , you can put anything you want there even if you dont meet the requirement. (for instance, I have a Sword Rit with Protector's Strike only because it has 0.5s swing)

for GW2 the first 5 skills are set by your weapon choice , the first skill(1) is a spammable attack with no recharge. the 6th slot is the Elite , the 10th slot is a Heal , you can customize extra 3 skills for your bar, and modify all your skills with traits. when you watch people playing GW2 demo they spam button 1 and then press other skills only when conditions are met.

A lot of difference , totally different playstyle and game, so it's totally recommended because you wont get the same experience in GW2 and it helps set the back story.

OK , I know there's a lot of new players on this forum , so I thought I'd share an easy way to get 50k on your account.

During this update ANet removed the Xunlai Tournament House; in doing so they made an NPC give away 50 tournament points to everyone (because they had no way of tracking who actually used the service)

So when you are able to , travel to Great Temple of Balthazar. Register a Tournament account with Tolkano. Then go see High Priest Zhang , redeem your 50 tournament points , exchange them for 10 Zaishen Keys from Tolkano.

Each Key sells for around 5k.

EDIT: the easiest way to do this is to make a pvp character. you will immediately end up in GTOB.

EDIT2: this is once per account only. 50k is a nice way to get some stuff to outfit your heroes and yourself

lol, sell it to other people in GTOB , try the american district. put a price, say 50k for 10 and confirm will have buyer. The price fluctuates from 5-6k but if you just want the money fast then 5k each is good enough.

nonono , zkeys are used to advance the zaishen title. You need about 200 keys to reach rank 3 when you can display it in HOM.

the tournament house was a betting system implemented by ANet to predict GVG winners. They had a problem with it and instead of fixing they simply discontinued the service.

reason i ask you to go to american district is because 90% of the world's english speakers who still play guild wars will play in American servers. Even the english speakers from europe go there now. So it's the most populated and much easier to sell stuff.

No need to rush. Guild Wars is a casual MMORPG so play it at your own leisure time. Don't treat it like some hardcore MMORPG out there and you will enjoy what this game has to offer.

For a Warrior to have no blocking or damage skills for a few seconds and having to rely on the backline is pretty baed. It's not as bad when you are midline like where most rangers play

The best way to play warrior is to not really care about your secondary profession.

Master reward are extra/bonus reward (gold/EXP) you'll get when you complete a mission's bonus requirements such as killing a certain foe, complete within the time limit, save some NPC...etc. An extra weapon check mark will appear at the mission check point when you achieved the bonus requirement. In Prophecies you'll only need to achieve the bonus requirement to get Master while for Factions & Nightfall there are 3 levels (Normal -> Expert -> Master) mostly determine by how well you handle the bonus requirement. A mission will only register as "complete" when you get the Master Reward.

Warrior/Monk

*Never ever run Monk heals.

Fixt for you. They aren't linked to any expansion but continue the story along from Prophecies. You should have Heroes with you now , you can customize their armor , weapons and skillbars as well.

Gratz on level 20. Have you gotten ascended yet? Then you will be able to change secondary professions at will.

Ascension(for prophecies character) happens after you complete Augury Rock mission in Crystal Desert. If you haven't done that you won't be able to change your secondary professions.
You really should get ascended, then you can change your 2nd profession. By doing so you can purchase skills for your heroes. The other method (i think most ppl do it this way) is to spend real money on skill unlock packs, which will allow your PVP chars and Heroes full access to skills(including elites!). I bought the skill unlock packs for Prop, Fac, NF and core and can build everything. In the long run it saves a lot of gold.
