Since you're on the RM600 budget threshold, go for the Z3.

The Z10 is good, but the newer updates are more skewed towards Z3 and the Z30.

The Z3's main weakness is its 5mp camera. Other than that, you can't say anything as a weakness, even with the 1.5GB RAM (500mb lesser)

Yup, surprised with such a low spec cam. User nowadays mostly uses phone cam to take casual pix; replacing compact cams. As such, anything lower than 8Mp is considered no good. 5Mp will take a lot of convincing to do.

If you're not in a REAL hurry, I'll suggest waiting for the Z3 LTE version. When its released, because it has better specs to accomodate the LTE chip (i'm not sure WHY exactly, but its kinda confirmed, at least on leaked OS's documentation) and so it'll actually accomodate better stuffs, like an upgraded RAM to 2GB, increased speed to 1.5GHz, and a 8mp camera (which right now, is unconfirmed either to be a Samsung unit or a Sony unit since there are drivers for both) to fit.

Of course it will be pricier than the current 3G version of Z3, but I'll say its worth it. Assuming that the current Z10/z30's 8MP camera is anything (its actually the same as the iPhone4S, but the software tuning is not as good) to say, its definitely STILL a better choice than the sensor in the current Z3 models.

Hi all, i just bought a BB Z3 and i use whatsapp n wechat quite a lot. So far, whatsapp is working fine but i have few problem for wechat.

Firstly, i can't restore the chat history from wechat server as there is no option for me in wechat native apps.

Secondly, the notifications for wechat is not working. I only can view the messages after open the app as other social apps like whatsapp is working fine.

So, can any situ here to advise me on solving the above problem. Thanks!

Are you using the native? try changing it to the Android version.

btw, the wechat native isn't really native, its just an android port that's super-out-of-date.

Just toyed around with my new Asus Zenfone 5 (my mother bought one for me, since my Z10 is now sent for RMA/repair, and I have to thank the folks in BBUGMY.COM for helping me out), and I just realized that the Z3 is still a better alternative to the other Intel powered / Snapdragon 400 series in the 5.0 screen size frame.

Forget about the high end PPI, forget about the specs, the user experience is just different.

I wanted a unified, push-ready, actionable inbox. I can get that in Android, but I have to pay RM50, and I'm at the mercy of the developers. Why should I?

I have to pay extras just to get a BlackBerry-esque feature, and darn right I should have.

After all, a BlackBerry is for action, not reaction, not "put it later I'll view it on my laptop".

planning to buy a z3 for new experience, mostly use for phone call, whatsapp
,internet browsing.is it worth?

is that any cons, hope me back??

thanks for reply.

If you want to do browsing + phone calls + whatsapp, the Z3 is more than worth it.

THe only cons are the camera (which is a 5mp unit), and the 1.5GB RAM (which still makes it a good machine, I've got a 2GB Android, and I'm always only having 100-200mb free, dafuq?)

how about compare to zenfone 5?
*
Depends on what you want to compare.

If its camera, the Zenfone 5 (it has 8mp, and that actually-usable-low-light-camera) can shoot better.
Screen size should be the same.

Power? The Z3 win hands down. Ridiculous power management from the Zenfone 5, despite zenfone 5 having a slightly bigger battery.

USB OTG is only very recently (like less than a week) introduced to Zenfone 5. BlackBerry Z3 still doesn't have it (which is kind of moot, if you're only using the USB-OTG to read thumbdrives as Zenfone 5 and and BlackBerry Z3 actually can and will do hotswap of SD card, but eventually depend on the use case, since BlackBerry Z3 will have "BlackBerry Blend".

Android apps, as of 10.3.0.1052, works well, again, except if you need GAPPS.

In the end it depends on what you want. Do you want a BlackBerry, or do you want a full fledged Android experience? I've got both and I want a BlackBerry.

may i know,i can sysn my google contact to Z3?
*
Yes you can. It will be faster via WiFi. You may want to use apps to make sure you back up your contacts and all, since your phone acts as the slave for sync, not master, if you use Google Sync.

Went to Low Yat's BlackBerry store (top floor) to esquire about Z3. Was quoted RM699.

The sotre was empty with 2 sales person. Malay and Chinese guy. The Malay guy was friendly while the Chinese .... well, I thought I killed his whole family. Totally not interested to  serve. Everything I ask, he answered in 1 word. Z30 cost RM1.2k+! Still so expensive?

The z30 may only be a dual core phone, but demand for it hasn't actually cooled down. Amongst the "first generation" of BlackBerry 10 devices, Z10, Q10, Q5, and Z30, the Z30 outsells every other models.

2nd generation device line up will be

Z3, Q20, Passport.
