I'm Malaccan, my girlfriend is Penangite. So whenever I'm back in Malaysia I will drive up to see her and usually spend a night or two in Penang. I do not stay at her place because there just isn't any space to fit a buffalo like me.

So, I have been staying in JV Hotel in BM which is really cheap (RM 40 for single bed) and really near her place, but over the span of 2 years the rates have gone up and the place has been poorly maintained. So I have decided it's time to look for somewhere new to stay while I'm in Penang.

Since I am only staying at most a couple of nights at a time, most of the time just one night, I would like a place that's just clean and comfortable and that does not look so...questionable. I'm looking for:
- About RM 100 or less a night is good for me.
- A place with a loyalty program would be good as I'll definitely be a recurring guest every few months.
- Near the Bukit Tambun toll exit would be better, around BM town, Auto City, Bukit Minyak, is all good. Butterworth a little far but I'll consider it.
