I wouldn't that.  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

EVERYTHING will depend on HOW GOOD THE STOCK you will be holding and hopefully, you did not overpay for it.

The danger in just putting emotions aside is that one will run the risk of holding onto a stock in regardless of whether the reason to buy the stock was reasonable in the first place.
It means one run the risk of stubbornly holding onto lousy stock picks.

So what will you do boon3.... will you hold share like Skpetro at this moment ? My entry price is 3.80.... hmm.gif hmm.gif hmm.gif

The one thing I can do is give direct personal advice leh....

I am not an adviser. sweat.gif sweat.gif

But what I will say is...
no matter what happens (in the near future)....
do you think you can learn from this experience?

for example... if SKPetro drops further ( err... IF la)..... would you say your entry at 3.80 was rather rash?
ie... do you think that perhaps you could improve on your buying?

ask yourself if there is anywhere you could have done better? smile.gif

When you said 3.80, you probably bought SKPet on this day and you were looking at this

Not sure about you but based on the chart, I do not think that 3.80 was a good entry point.

Nothing indicated the stock will turn...

And for me I do not even know where the exit point is if I enter at 3.80.

Said the following this morning....

QUOTE
Write this down......

In a falling market....
stop trying to guess where and when the stock will make the 'V' turn up.
Were you thinking that perhaps SKPet had already fallen a lot and that SKPet might do a 'V' turn up .... soon?

For example... say you are holding..... ABC....

and now the stock ..... has fallen a lot............. sweat.gif sweat.gif

well.... why don't you ask yourself...... how and why you are stuck with stock ABC ?

Was ABC the right stock pick?

Or did you enter ABC at the wrong price?

That smart wise man once said....

Well to be perfect then.....all we need to do is to keep on changing. smile.gif

I can see where you are company from.
You probably see up the company's potential.

... and then .... you see....
I am a trader.

... which means... my thinking is different....

for me..... BUYING is rather important.
BUYING correct will solve most of a trader's problems.

teach us some buying skill...

so far you mentioned that buying during breakout - however. if you buy during breakout, there 2 times which will be not really suitable to do so

1) usually market will gap up in the morning if dow jones sentimental is good, gap down if the opposite. therefore buying in the morning may actually may not be the best buy, there is some margin of profit being absorbed

2) buy before the market stops at 5. this is tricky as well. buy stocks which have a breakout in the late afternoon have the tendancy to be gaped down if dow jones are bad later the in late evening ( malaysia time) however the advantages of buying before the market stop is that we are able to pickup some pretty good deal from those contra players. but if we were to buy with a breakout may seems is a bad idea, this only works well at bottom fishing

'usually'..... not same as 'all the time' tongue.gif

Anyway, I have seen far too many times before contradictory movements to know never to make a trade based solely on Dow movements.
It's never a sure win strategy.

I think it's a rather bandwagon analysis la.... tongue.gif

Yes, there's a likelyhood that future earnings 'might' fall but then when you put into consideration the magnitude of fall most O&G had already 'suffered'....
in my opinion... it's simply a rash bandwagon analysis....
as it is... in my opinion... the market has already more than priced in the potential shortfall in future earnings from the O&G stocks.

just my opinion la....
they are the pro la....
not me... tongue.gif
