u've been greatest OC for amd, sure no prob wif intel  whistling.gif   whistling.gif
*
thanks bro...
all day setting up the rig...
did something stoooopid mad.gif
b4 setting the c2d...dl the F3 bios...good! install everything and flashed to F3...good!
so, proceed with to install OS on RAID...arrghhh...forgot to copy the damn RAID driver...and i left my laptop floppy at the office...cracking my head how to get the driver in the floppy...
this mobo does have some problem with the power i think...when switched it ON, the cpu fan started barely and then stopped, kinda not enuff juice je...and then started again and sometime just the system just shutted off...second time or third baru ok...
anyway, having problem of setting up the os with RAID0...maybe i just install the os on single hdd...
now running memtest86+...gonna wait for 30 rounds of #5, if ok, then install the os... booting and 430x7=3.1Ghz at stock...dunno whether can load os or not...

running:
E6300 L626A541 430x7
stock intel hsf
GA-965P-DS4 w/ F3 Bios
512Mb x 2 Kingston DDR2 667 - KTC --> Kingston IC -- not a good oc'er blush.gif
vcore = stock
vdimm = +0.2
gmch = +0.2
gfsb = +0.2
pcie = +0.1

temp is not so good...idle (in BIOS) already 55c...and that is at stock vcore sweat.gif

biggrin.gif
mem divider? ofcourse...dont think my KVR wif KTC chip can do >1000Mhz one...
ran the 32M wif default vcore...well i presumed 'Normal CPU Voltage' as per BIOS is default voltage...1.3v...cpu-z showing 1.376v...easytune showed 1.4v...tonite, b4 sleep gonna run the Orthos at 3.3G...
my ram is limiting my OC...managed to run 1M at DDR970 only...will post the screenie later...now using my lappy, smoking at the balcony tongue.gif
i guess i know what items i need next: a DDR800 ram and prolly a good HSF...typhoon or ninja? sweat.gif

this one is yet to be confirmed stable since didnt do the stress test yet...tomorrow should know...but the temp is waaaaayyy too hi la...75c during priming...scarry one...if opty last time, should wont there shakehead.gif

the temp kinda scare me couse based on Core Temp...my MaxCase is 85...during priming, both core were at 83c...even thou easytune showed 75c...worry the temp might puting the wall on my oc...that's why need to get a better HSF...
hmmm...gonna run the priming now...

btw, i tot u using those giagantic(XP-120) hsf??

heeheh...that xp120 canno use no more liao since i gatal2 tangan did some modding to it's bracket for my naked opty last time...so need to get another hsf and seriously FAST coz the temp is killing me! sweat.gif

QUOTE(ddww @ Sep 1 2006, 02:41 AM)
how come your 485MHz x 7 can only do 17s++ in 1M?? i can reach 16.9 with 483 but feed quite alot voltage to my CPU there (1.45v)... and one more thing, you got a very nice vcore there... < 1.4v notworthy.gif

Edited : and also the vdimm, i have to feed my RAM till 2.4v at 5-4-4-9.
*
dunno why couldnt get close or better than u...maybe the timing too loose...still not sure what's the best setting for the mem...that's why i wanna know if there is an apps that i can use to view the mem setting like MemSet2.1...so i use it as my basis to tighten up the timing...
ur ram is taking 2.4v? shocking.gif mmm...not sure also what is the max vdimm generally can this mem can take in...mmm...maybe i just up a wittle bit more and see if the fsb could increase. thanks thumbup.gif

active cooling???just 80mm fan will be enuff, rite...i put on 1x80mm blowing directly to the ram and another 80mm to the NB...
now passing 7hr mark...another one hour, gonna stop it and let it rest a bit...and then put some more juice to the ram, and push to 3.4Ghz rclxm9.gif
this is fun!

yepp 80mm fan enuff de but the prob is, i dont have the holder for the fan
even side panel oso dont have, so ady order from our moding pro here
hope can trigger more fun  laugh.gif   laugh.gif

ps : hoping my giagantic psu wont bottle neck, ady runnig 120mm fan x3 & 80mm fan x1, all is high speed wan..  sweat.gif   sweat.gif
*
i dont think u psu gonna make any complaints...he is the Coolest Giant ever tongue.gif
btw, for ATX_12V-2X (check ur manual), u plugged it in using 4-pin or 8 pin. dont know what it will do but from the manual it will supply the power to the CPU...so if using 4 pins...2 pins will be for +12V...if 8 pins, 4 pins for +12V. i plugged the 8 pins, just to make sure the CPU got really enuff juice.

Update: another 4 minutes to reach 8 hrs priming thumbup.gif

err.. for the ATX 12V, i use the 8pin connector since it stick together..  sweat.gif
while the single 4pin, i make it to connect the 24pin(20+4)

my setup ok ka??  sweat.gif  sweat.gif
*
ok edi i think...i'm using 2x120mm and 5x80mm fan with 3 hdd plus one optical...and 7900gt summore tongue.gif

i asked coz before yesterday, i plugged in 4 pin using 8-to-4 pin converter...forgot to take out the converter since used that one during my AMD tenure biggrin.gif

already passed 8 hrs of priming...going out to the bank shortly, so i think i just let it run another one hour...

I think that is not default Vcore if you look at his previous 1M screenshot, EasyTuner says 1.38v unless remysix manually set it to 1.325v
*
that's why i'm quite confuse with the 'default vcore' terms...
in BIOS it say Normal CPU Voltage = 1.30...so, for the CPU Voltage, i didnt put any additional voltage...so, i'd consider it default vcore since no overvoltage is set...
in easytune, it showed 1.41v and in cpu-z showed 1.36~1.37v...
so, how to know u r running at default vcore?
and then there is the V-Droop factor doh.gif
doing overvoltage even 0.1v in BIOS, cpuz will report <1.3v??? shocking.gif
sorry...intel noob's here wink.gif

and yes, for 485x7...it was not default...put some overvoltage, didnt remember how much doh.gif

@ddww
yup...472x7 shud be 3.3...hehehe...need to retake my basic math blush.gif

he using divider la prend, sure no need alot vcore laugh.gif

yeah, i connect the ATX 4pin using 8pin(another 4 extra) connector from my psu becoz it has onli 1 dedicated 4pin(from psu) which i combined wif my 20pin to make it 24pin

i thinks its should be ok but the prob, i afraid later it will loosen since the 8pin punya tempat sangkut kenot sangkut to the 4pin ATX..  sweat.gif
*
just make sure it stay connected and 'ketat'...
going out now...to the bank

When you set 'Normal' in bios, it will choose automatically that is why you get 1.41v in EasyTuner. You have to manually set it biggrin.gif

aiseh doh.gif havent Gigabyte knows the word 'Auto'. Normal is normal, nothing special.
now i need to redo it again...aiya!!!

kingston ram...same chip as mine - KTC...but mine is 512mb module...max i can do is DDR970...via easytune...if from bios, cannot boot...that one wif 2.1vdimm...more vdimm does not give any extra Mhz...prolly hit the wall...hope urs can do better, bro...but 4Gb??? shocking.gif
