QUOTE(Evogenix @ Sep 13 2006, 01:24 AM)
wanna ask ds3 user, how do i set the memory timing in BIOS? i cant see the option to change the setting.

the memory multiplier is same like divider in amd64?
how do we reconize the 2.0, 2.5, 4+ etc values?

im on f6 bios...seems to be good...
comparison :

f5 bios settings :
fsb 430
ddr2 860
vcore 1.35
vdimm +0.2
vmch +0.1
vfsb +0.1
temp on idle 38
temp on load 50
** STABLE 18hours dual prime tested **

f6 bios settings :
fsb 430
ddr2 860
vcore 1.35000
vdimm +0.2
vmch normal
vfsb normal
temp on idle 38
temp on load 50
** ROCK STABLE 24/7 **

u can boot to fsb 400 everything in stock (vcore, vdimm, vfsb, vmch) under f6 bios

f6 bios improvement :
vdimm issued fix (u can see the improvement above)
enhanced overclockability (enhanced voltages options)
x-fi thingy improved
updated chip and rom (source from xs forum)

13hours stable @ 475x7 (485 x7 not stable, can do 1MPI only)
+0.1vcore (1.425v)
+0.3vdimm (5-5-4-12)
+0.1vfsb
+0.1vPCI-E (This is crucial, if din +0.1v cant boot. funny.)
+0.2vmch (din try +0.1v may be can)

@tampoi
wat is your previous E6300 + DS3 voltage setup ah?
*
i cant even boot at ur setting to 440
i check the pc health thr : ddr18 FAIL -.-"

and another question ...i prime my own setting for 17 hrs no error...and i no boot for 2 days for normal usage no problem....but when i run 32M pi said not exact in round -.-" is dat a problem? 5-5-5-15 setting...

@@ diff board diff config... have to try out by our self... yea ddr18 failed because it exceed the normal voltage which is 1.8v for normal ddr2. failed in 32M pi mostly indicates tat your memory is starving. try feed another 0.1v or 0.2v to it. see whether it solve the problem or not. btw, wat divider u choose to use?
*
lol...i put 2.2v vdimm le when i try to boot 440...still got fail indicator
using 1:1
4:5 too much to boot at 430...1k++ dun think my kvr can support...
but performance ram most probably can

hmm, temps are pretty high though, 70C dry.gif
can't make the heatsink to sit lower or else might solve the problem..........
*
70C veli high la frenz...the cpu will act weirdly if temp goes too high...i see many forumers said safe zone for E6300 is < 61C

QUOTE(charge-n-go @ Sep 28 2006, 03:27 PM)
hey, i discovered something. There is a bit in the processor itself to check the threshold temperature of the hot spots. If the temp exceed threshold internally (your temp monitor might not be able to report), the bit is automatically set and then throttles the CPU. I am not very sure how it throttles yet. Most probably will be some speed step mechanism like lowering the frequency and voltage.
*
hmm...u r quite right...possibility is thr...try google it out

QUOTE(X10A Freedom @ Sep 28 2006, 03:39 PM)
i think it's a possibility coz i tried superpi 1M @ 3.01G but the time is not as good as other ppl that's doing @ 3.01G dry.gif
*
yea temp definitely a factor...but ram freq and timing do their parts too in spi-ing
