1.5v is standard actually.. many c2d really perform from 1.45-1.5voltage..

i've good news and bad news..
bad news, my processor need 1.4vcore to just complete super PI 1m and since i aim to reach highest stable clockspeed for below 1.4v, then i have to forget 3.5ghz for daily use good news is, here are my settings.. they might be different a lil bit since i'm using different board.. 435x8 @ 1.375vcore dual pi 32m passed! QUOTE(jarofclay @ Sep 20 2006, 08:59 PM) Actually, i didn't notice any difference in my superpi with or without EIST. BTW, I did disable EIST in the BIOS but it didn't take effect. u need to disable other things as well such as c1e, bla2.. forgot already haha but if i not mistaken u need to disable 2 things to ensure the EIST is completely disable QUOTE(ksl279 @ Sep 20 2006, 09:40 PM) hi guys ! why my E6600 so power hunger ah ??? it's nothing serious, u need 1.6v @ 3.3ghz to get stable prime but others just run super PI.FPO/BATCH# L624A599 VERSION # D63625-001 ![]() Bios set 1.6Mhz, but speedfan show 1.57Mhz... which is correct one ? all my conroe can easily ran dual pi 32m but then failed prime after 2 mins.. neway what cooling r u using? mind using coretemp to check ur real temp? speedfan is quite confusing.. actually, the L2 quantity doest not effect the oc at all... yes e6300 and e6400 are most ocable coz they have lower speed, and have higher oc percentage when they hit 3.3ghz compared with e6600 which has higher default clockspeed..
but at the end, highest clockspeed e6300 & e6400 still cant beat highest clockspeed achieved by e6600 or higher c2d.. conroe has higher chance to hit 4ghz compared to allendale.. but the reason i revert to e6400 is because i cant find a noticeable performance when using e6600 in real life.. the clear thing is e6600 is hotter than e6400. |

@tAmpOi, maybe u're lucky, or maybe ur previous E6300 IHS is very poor?
bcoz from my experienced, all the 3 conroes are hotter than my 4 allendales.. 2 of the conroes are 10c higher than allendales @ same vcore while my last conroe is the best coz hotter 4c only and i believe cpu l2 cache does effect the temp a lil bit |

conroe (4mb) needs lot of voltage once it go beyond 3.2ghz.
i owned 4 conroe last time and all of them managed to hit higher fsb than my allendales but they needed lots of voltage and the temp was so hot for aircooling.. with allendale, i dun have prob with temp even at highvcore... |
