I am currently in munich and was wondering:

To all you rockers out there: Would you attend a concert (old shcool 70s 80s rock, blues, psychadelic, gothic, funk, soul) although u wont understand a single word their saying? Is the text important when you guys listen to todays pop/rock songs?

I was just wondering if a german band (i assume maybe 90% malaysians don't know german?) would get an audience if they were to tour malaysia. Don't have to make it big or anything, just gather maybe a mediocre fan base, maybe earn some extra money.

What are your opinions? Just be direct. Will post some samples too after getting the green light from the composer.

The sample is the pre production version. Everything is midi. The drums and guitar are played live, but looped for the entire song. Equipment are not the best in the world, it is a home private studio after all.

Ermm, ya i agree that this song is really heavy rammstein style. I'm not a fan of it myself. But it was the only free sample . We do also have some more slow rock like 70s 80s style (hammond stuff and dave gilmour soloing stuff). i can't really compare since i don't really know many 70s 80s rock bands. Also some funky stuff, james brown soul stuff, basically we're kind off all over the place without a fixed direction. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing by the way...

And yea, german texts are the corniest ever. It takes a lot of getting used to. 100 points for Everdying .

The band i am intending to bring over is not this Tribunal thingy, but another one. It's complicated and long story, but Das Tribunal has somehow morphed into another band. So we use some of the songs from this Tribunal project since the composer is the same guy. So no copyright problems.

thats a very good question. I have to say i dont know really. Because we are doing music in almost every direction. There are even some jazz instrumental pieces. So I cant really say what or who we are targeting.

As for covering costs, there are no big plans at the moment. The band is still young and i doubt anything will happen for the next half year at least. It's just an idea i had and was wondering if it would work.

But if it would work, i was thinking about starting off at music festivals for example the sure heboh by tv3 or similar stuff like that. Then after that when people know about the band, then we may have individual concerts and stuff like that.

Ah well, at the moment it's still an idea and will remain so for some time.

Umm as i said before, we don't have a fixed style or genre. But most of the songs have one thing in common which is ....about how politicians screw up everything (i don't want to go deeper into that). Which is why my biggest problem is our dear narrow minded government. I might get hanged for it .

im not so worried about that part. It's because of our super sensitive censorship board. I don't know if the message will get banned or not.

well tamil is foreign to me. But if you understood it it wont be foreign anymore would it. But then again, there are many tamil speakers in malaysia, so i guess tamil artists will have quite a big audience already. How about something european? French, italian and stuff like that. How do you think the success rate will be like (for any genre...doesn't really matter)?
