Monks are sacred warriors who channel divine power through sheer force of will. Healing waves, mantras of protection and attacks empowered with holy might are all within their purview.
Skilled monks deliver rapid-fire attacks unarmed or with a variety of well-balanced weapons. In combat, they emphasize high maneuverability over staying power, darting in and out of melees and avoiding protracted slugfests.
Monks’ attacks are primarily melee-focused. They can eliminate single foes with extreme damage, or deliver short-range area-of-effect assaults with waves of elemental power that emanate from palm strikes or crescent kicks.
BACKGROUND “The gods guide me. You cannot win.”
Monks of the Sahptev faith train their bodies and minds so that they may become the foremost holy warriors of the land of Ivgorod. Within the cloisters of the Patriarchs, the monks endure harsh trials both physical and spiritual, proving their devotion and attaining unmatched focus.
Daily ritualistic cleansings help monks purify their spirits and overcome the corruption that gnaws at the hearts of all men. In the pursuit of martial perfection, they also hone their legendary balance and clarity, skills that allow them to master both unarmed combat and a diverse array of weapons.
After a lifetime of preparation, anointed monks are permitted to leave their monasteries' halls to serve the decrees of the Patriarchs. The emblem on their foreheads marks them as survivors, achievers, and pillars of their society.
Monks embody the will of Ivgorod’s one thousand and one gods in every step and every strike.

Lightning Build Gears: Eye of the Storm (Spirit stone), Thundergod's Vigor (belt), 3 set bonus of Raiment of Thousand Storm, SOJ, amulet and bracer with %lightning skill damage. Stack +WoTHF damage in belt and pant. Stack +WoL damage in Helm and boot if you use Wave of Light. Weapons: Odyn's Son / Thunderfury / Shard of Hatred and WKL. Skill: Wave of Light (Pillar of the Ancient) / LTK (Stinging Kick), WoTHF - Hand of Lightning (this skill is super strong and scale with lighting damage) Passive: Mystic Rhythm Characteristics: WoTHF is the best spirit generator at the moment. Not really because it get you a lot of spirit but because it's damage and incredible proc to LoH. Pair with Thunderfury / SoH, you basically can just punch all white mobs to death. Drop a bell / LTK every now and then to kill Elite. Our spirit spender is a little weak at the moment, otherwise this is actually very fun to play. Pieces of %Lightning skill:

Monk Philosophy We felt that Momentum was not as strong as some other Monk passives. The buffs to Momentum should help bring it more in line with its peers. While there are no additional changes at this time, we intend to buff other abilities in a future patch to open up more build diversity. Active Skills Wave of Light Skill Rune - Pillar of the Ancients Bug Fix: Fixed an issue causing the pillar created by this rune to have collision Passive Skills Momentum Reduced the distance required from 30 to 25 yards Damage bonus increased from 15% to 20% Duration increased from 4 to 6 seconds
Class-Specific Items Monk Philosophy Legendary items are just as important to class power as class skills. We recognize that the Monk class sets went out underpowered, and are substantially increasing their damage to be closer in comparison with the sets of other classes. Additionally, the Raiment of a Thousand Storms 6- piece bonus has been redesigned slightly to allow the damage to be higher, more controlled, and more deliberate.
Monkey King's Garb (4) Set Bonus Explosion weapon damage increased from 100% to 1600% Lowered explosion delay from 1 to 0.5 seconds Bug Fix: Fixed an issue that cause the Spirit spent counter to reset when an item was picked up Raiment of a Thousand Storms (6) Set Bonus Will now be triggered only by Dashing Strike Weapon damage increased from 100% to 3000% Damage radius decreased from 20 yards to 15 yards Damage dealt can now be a Critical Hit Removed the target cap The visual effect will still be capped at six targets

Monk Philosophy To better support character builds based on a specific damage type we are changing the damage type of a few select runes. This is an ongoing goal - additional changes may be made in the future to any of our classes to make damage types an interesting consideration for character building. We want to give Monks more options for spending their Spirit. The damage on Wave of Light is being increased to encourage its use as an alternative to the existing popular Spirit spenders. Active Skills Crippling Wave Skill Rune - Rising Tide Damage type changed from Physical to Holy Deadly Reach Skill Rune - Keen Eye Damage type changed from Physical to Fire Skill Rune - Scattered Blows Bug Fix: Fixed an issue preventing the first and second hits from dealing Lightning damage Skill Rune - Strike from Beyond Damage type changed from Physical to Cold Fists of Thunder Skill Rune - Bounding Light Damage type changed from Lightning to Holy Skill Rune - Lightning Flash Has been removed Skill Rune - Quickening Damage type changed from Lightning to Physical Skill Rune - Wind Blast New Skill Rune: Replaces Lightning Flash Every third hit Freezes enemies for 1 second Deals Cold damage Mantra of Conviction Bug Fix: Fixed an issue causing this to provide less bonus damage than intended Sweeping Wind Skill Rune - Inner Storm Damage type changed from Physical to Holy Wave of Light Impact weapon damage increased from 473% to 605% Skill Rune - Blinding Light Has been removed Skill Rune - Explosive Light Weapon damage increased from 731% to 830% Damage type changed from Holy to Fire Skill Rune - Numbing Light New Skill Rune: Replaces Blinding Light Critical Hits Freeze enemies for 4.5 seconds Deals Cold damage Skill Rune - Pillar of the Ancients Has been redesigned: Now deals 635% weapon damage as Lightning, followed by 785% weapon damage as Lightning over 3 seconds to enemies who remain in the area Skill Rune - Wall of Light Impact weapon damage increased from 709% to 870% Damage type changed from Holy to Physical Way of the Hundred Fists Skill Rune - Blazing Fists Damage type changed from Physical to Fire Skill Rune - Hands of Lightning Damage type changed from Physical to Lightning Skill Rune - Spirited Salvo Damage type changed from Physical to Holy

i have 79% holy damage + Mystic Rhythm passive... bell damage still sucks... bliz seriously need to fix the bell damage... no wonder everyone is not using it... i m still using it for crowd control (blinding wave)...
Getting a little bored recently with really bad loot... Madcow solo T6 rift!
DPS: 1mil Toughness: 22mil Time to complete: 18min Yah! No death! DS like a boss. Not using Unity ring bug.
Watch in 720p!
skill, want to look at the skill! Share share
Not to be skeptical but I look at it only efficient against solo, whereby you can control the pace of the game. When party kicks in you will be welcome by various crazy mixed affix. there were once WE (calling gladfly to verify) were handling 4-packs, and death is unstoppable.

I will not say it's efficient, rift probably best in party. I have 2 more videos, party of 4, T6 rift, we die a lot, take longer (20 min and 25min) a lot of "LOL" moments. Probably not gonna upload that.
Efficiency aside, solo T6 rift is very fun! Allow me to play monk to the max; high mobility, fast attack speed!
