QUOTE(tnsai @ Apr 25 2014, 03:26 PM) Hmm looking at the torso of Ultra Magnus.. it seems the cab is going to be a very hollow collapsible part.. you can see the cab's wheels in the torso.. also in the 3rd pic (or 1st hidden) you can definitely see part of a window.. not sure side or front.. but you can also just barely make out some "rivets"... yeah... at first i tot the cab will still be able to transform into the white prime. but now it seems like it's just a hollow cab which collapse and fold. but it still take up lots of space considering the bulk of the bodySo i'm guessing it's the front.. and it folds and folds heh. |

looks like the hunt for the AOE dinobots fever is on...
but on the other hand, i am actually considering the 3rd party MP class dinobots... either fantoys or the gigapower need opinion here... - which company will produce better quality figure? in terms of the material used and joints? - what is the price for scoria now in m'sia? or is it even available here in m'sia? - anyone knows about past product of gigapower? heard it's quite new |

QUOTE(lord_aminkin @ Jun 9 2014, 08:25 AM) Yeah me too man! Its a very sexy truck alt mode. Number one consideration when I buy transformers is always its alt mode because I love automobile. Then only I look at its robot mode and decide whether its acceptable or not. tbh, i think many of the aoe bot that "transform" into vehicles are shellformers... very very disappointed with the designer this time roundFor Galvatron, to me its back kibble is acceptable. Leader AOE Prime got it worst I think. But the biggest concern I have with him is that he is a blatantly shellfomers. The head of truck just folded up revealing its robot mode. That's not much transformation there. |

QUOTE(alanyuppie @ Jun 9 2014, 09:52 AM) I would side with the designers though. Past TF movie toys had been pretty complicated for their target audience : kids. So this time around.. I think Hasbro give a direct and clear guidelines to designers to simplify their works. And fearing even some of these new toys might be too complicated, Hasbro decided to play safe and throw in a few more range of the same figure /character (eg. 1-step-transformation ) . So there's a detailed rm72.90 Deluxe for the older us, and 49.90 version for the pampered /lacking attention span modern kids, and those non-transformable 89.90 ones for kids-that-hate-transforming-figure, and of coz ... smaller robot-riding-dino/beast for those who likes to play joust and bang Hotwheels cars together . well, i do agree that they should come out something simpler for the younger market. some of the toys are really too complicated for young kids.I'll be saving $$ for MP Wheeljack and Ultra Magnus. but what i am talking about the design is the "transformers" concept... u see in the past we can see alot of engineering design effort had been put into a transformers. example... movie prime (previous trilogy) - windshield becomes chest, legs becomes the bottom part, front grille becomes the feet, wheels nicely placed on thigh... etc human alliance line... those who own these will know what i mean in rotf, i was already disappointed with jetfire... it's basically a blackbird jet with a robot fold up and attach to the bottom of the jet... but maybe it's because of the complexity that he need to combine with prime la... hence the design... u can still have a 1-step transformer for young kids but a more complex ones in, say, a leader class figure. voyager and deluxe class in between in the latest aoe... just a foldable empty box, put the bot inside... Taa Daa... u got a transformers! i guess my decision to focus in MP line is the wise decision |

who is this red dude?
![]() maybe this explains why there's shellformers in aoe toys. cause with this kind of transformation, it's imposible to make the toys movie accurate except shellformers This post has been edited by ckchan: Jun 11 2014, 10:34 AM |

QUOTE(VDread @ Jun 11 2014, 11:27 PM) Lol. Its not to discourage bro. +1... that's y i only focus on MP now... like u said, even though the price is premium, the releases is not many. and also i even focus on main G1 characters only. repaints... if and when i have extra budget only consider. For small scale collector such as myself, the MP line is a perfect fit. Only grouch is that the price paid is premium, but at least the line is small and the releases are spaced between each other. It's the catching up part that hurts the wallet. For me, I focus on MP's that scale along with MP-10. Tho I have to admit FT Quakewave and Scoria would complement the line well. If only Grimmy was up to scale I demand a remold of MP Megatron to scale with MP10. Hahaha. i was tempted to scoria as well, but not so fond of its potato shaped dino mode. will wait and see how's the gigapower dinobots first b4 deciding. i a way, takara really screw up the great mp8 figure by releasing it in such a small size |

QUOTE(limfreelance @ Jun 26 2014, 08:48 AM) AOE design not look alike Transformer, still prefer the takara dmk01. i think i better get a pvc figure. Cheap tou. QUOTE(zeroglyph @ Jun 26 2014, 09:35 AM) you got that right(i've been saying that since they come up with the 1st revoltech OP). agreed. AOE design in general looks more like gundam. they look great in bot mode. but in practicle it's imposible to transform into the alt mode. thus shellformers is the only solution. i think it lost most of the characteristic of a transformersit's basically gundam style model of a transformers. on another note, from all the trailers, looks like AOE might turn out to be another DOTM, too much action and no character. am i the only one who thinks that? non-transforming figure is a big no no for me. |

QUOTE(zeroglyph @ Jun 26 2014, 10:48 AM) i remember when mBay said he didn't want to make megatron into a gun in tftm because it's not logical for a big robot to transform into a tiny gun. although it didn't bother him that frenzy's head can transform into a phone. yeah... some parts are still contradicting... like the matrix also changes size in the hands of sam and fallen/prime... but in the previous trilogy, i can still accept it as bay may want to make the bot looks more realistic than cartoonish. the toys also i still consider transform la, although t's already obvious that lots of panels are used to cover up. but the recent AOE toys are just ridiculous... plus points is the dinobots still looks great in some ways imoin my view, mBay's TF was never "transformer". it's more like transmorphers. |

QUOTE(Frostlord @ Jul 1 2014, 09:44 AM) what i meant is, you can replace them with any other team (wreckers, combiners, or just 4 random autobots) and the storyline still goes. they serve nothing plotwise ... if i recall, the dinobots in the g1 series also serve no purpose other than reinforce the autobots when needed and hit and smash the cons. and bot mode... all these while also no use de la... most of the time they are in dino mode. their dino mode is stronger than their bot mode.if i remember correctly, in one G1 episode, meg blow up something, cause a great explosion and all the dinobots were blown to pieces. that time the dinobots are in their bot mode right? their bot mode is their weaknesses |

QUOTE(VDread @ Jul 1 2014, 11:54 AM) 1. Grimlock created the Technobots, which in combined form is Computron. 1. it's a one off thing... come on... grimlock's new brain????2. Grimlock stopped the Primacron creation, Tornedron. 3. The Dinobots were the Autobots heavy hitters in the early seasons of the G1 cartoon, and can hold their own against Devastator (the 1st G1 combiner). 4. All the Dinobots can speak, and have frequent banter with each other. 5. Grimlock has the signature "Me, Grimlock..." dialogue. He was not a Dinobot with its vocabulary limited to only grunting and puffing. 6. The Dinobots were given significant origin backstory, not captives in a ship then suddenly let loose. 7. In Bot mode, all the Dinobots towered over Optimus Prime, and were each stronger than Prime. 2. can't recall which episode is this 3. yup. heavy hitters. agreed just as i said 4. they can speak simple language... so? 5. again so? what's your point? 6. what backstory? they were created by wheeljack, ratchet... 7. yup. definitely bigger than prime. as i said, they are the hit and smash of the autobot team again... what u guys expect from a bay movie? haven't u guys watch the previous trilogy? maybe some of u are expecting romeo and juliet kind of story ke? come on la... it's a bayformers i also grew up watching the g1 series. but having watched the previous trilogy should already set what to expect from bayformers dy la... it's just a fun movie to watch when u don't relate it much back to its ori series. just sit back and enjoy the show la. |

QUOTE(VDread @ Jul 1 2014, 01:11 PM) My point is : Dinobots in the G1 series is not as insignificant as you say they are in the G1 series. haha... maybe in tf5??? can't really expect much from a 2.5 hour movie right? and can't really expect much more from a bay movie right?Bay's reimagination of the Dinobots is fine -- it's the plot holes that leaves much to be desired. Could've given an explanation on who were the 'Ancient Knights' and how are they similar to the current Transformers (transformable, captured by Lockdown etc). |

QUOTE(kiien_kyan @ Jul 1 2014, 04:07 PM) i agree Bay ruined TF.. but some part as i said.. this is just 2.5hours movie.. its difficult to bring out more character development if we want more tf in a single movie. unless like TFTM, only 5 autobots. but at that time maybe people will ask " After so many episodes, how come so less TF appeared? WE WANT MORE TFs!!" * btw, there is a youtube video named something like the honest trailer, it did say.. this is a movie that sell toys.. not that i like the movie so much and defending it. i do know there r flaws and plot holes in the movie. again, it's a 2.5 hours movies with so many characters, not to forget the humans as well... and unlike movies like ironman or thor or captain america.... they get a whole movie (maybe 2 or 3) to themselves only. plenty of screen time to develop the character. but when u got avengers, the movie is basically the same as tf, no much character development as well. same case with x-men... how many mutants in the movie? and how many character in it that actually got explained of their origin? they mainly just focus on the few like wolverine, magneto and prof x... |

QUOTE(zeroglyph @ Jul 2 2014, 09:05 AM) bro, i'm talking about character development... not only screen time...of cos avengers is better than tf movie... just giving example of more time for character development in movies between those that have 1 single main character vs those movie than have a bunch of main charaacters This post has been edited by ckchan: Jul 2 2014, 09:23 AM |
